FROM THE BOARD
Homeowners, As Hamilton Mill ages it is incumbent upon the Board of Directors to ensure that our neighborhood does not start to look “aged” or “outdated”. There are several areas within Hamilton Mill that will be refreshed over the upcoming years, including most of our entrances. Working with the Grounds and Facilities committee we have already updated the trees and plant areas in the neighborhoods between Hog Mountain and Jim Moore. While these improvements did make a significant difference in the look of those neighborhoods there were also some lessons learned that prompted us to put a small hold on the project to give us an ability to look at these refreshes in a different light. At the last Board meeting, we unanimously approved hiring the landscape architectural firm Pollack and Associates to put together a holistic plan for our main and neighborhood entrances. This will include the work necessary at the Parkway and Jim Moore once the roundabout is complete, the entrance to the neighborhood at the Parkway and Hog Mountain, and
many of our entrances that have minimal or no entrance designs. Jim Pollock has stated that he wants to make sure we have a Hamilton Mill signature with all of our entrances, which may be the stonework that is already prevalent, a particular plant, or a combination of both. Once Pollack and Associates comes up with a plan for the neighborhood we will get started on this journey and hope you will be as excited for the improvements as we expect to be. Finally, if you are interested in helping out with this endeavor, I highly encourage you to attend the Grounds and Facilities meetings. Info on their meetings can be found on the website at www.hmill.com under the Board/ Committees menu.
As always, we thank you for your support.
Board of Directors, Hamilton Mill
Annual Homeowner’s Association Meeting Thursday, January 27 at 7:00pm Lakeview Clubhouse
FROM THE BOARD
I have been on the board for the last 3.5 years and have learned a lot about the processes and needs of our community. I am glad to continue to work to make HM a great place to live and raise a family. One of my primary goals for the next two years will be to work to include more people with our committees and activities in order to maintain and continue to improve our hometown atmosphere. My husband and I have lived in HM since 2006. We have two children ages 28 and 26. I am a retired teacher and school administrator and have been involved with Grounds and Facilities as well as active in the tennis community. We are active members of 12Stone church.
I have had the honor and pleasure of serving on the Hamilton Mill Board of Directors over the past three years. I have played an integral role in working with my fellow board members in improving and continuing to make Hamilton Mill one of the premiere communities for current and future homeowners.
I am seeking re-election to continue to work on some of the upcoming projects and would like the opportunity to see them through successful completion.
My name is Alexander Gonzalez, my wife and I have five children, we moved from South Florida about two years ago, I am a retired Lieutenant Firefighter/Medic, currently I am a Professor at a local College teaching EMS. We have been coming up to Georgia in the Flowery Branch for many years where we have family living there, ever since we moved to the area, we have been wanting to live in Hamilton Mill, since the first we saw Hamilton Mill we knew we wanted to live in this beautiful community, at the time there were no homes available that suited our needs until almost three months ago that we found the right home for us. All of us are so happy that we are finally living here, up to our dogs, they love their new place. The reasons why I would like to be a part of the board for our Homeowners Association is because I would like to be a part of the group of people who have been making our community so great, I would do my best to make it even better by bringing in new ideas and always working together with the rest of the board to always maintain Hamilton Mill safe for all of us and to maintain it as one of the most beautiful and fun communities a family could ever want to live. Hamilton Mill is a very sought out place and I will make sure that it maintains that way so everyone from couples to retirees and especially families who are looking for a community where they can raise their children in a safe and secure place, not to mention beautiful, well maintained and fun, will always have a place to call HOME.

FROM THE BOARD
My wife Donna and I live here with our furry Havanese Stella. We have two sons now working and living in Atlanta. I'm a graduate of Florida State, former business owner and now sales director for a manufacturing company. I'm on the volunteer board for fundraising the past 17 years for Hemophilia of GA and work their annual golf tournament with the Atlanta Braves. I have also volunteered for The Drake House in Roswell that provides short term housing for single mothers and their families. I am a two-year former board member of my old neighborhood in Roswell and worked on the redesign and building of our tennis and pool facility. I have a passion for this community and would enjoy serving on the board to help keep Hamilton Mill as one of the top neighborhoods for families to live in and new families to move to, I know we are working on many amenity upgrades which should reflect in positive property values and enjoyment for the community. I am anxious to help with these projects keeping an eye on vendor contracts and maintenance costs.
I have been a resident of Hamilton Mill for 21 years and have been actively involved on committees and the Board for 21 years. Since retiring almost 16 years ago, I have dedicated my time to volunteering at The Food Bank, Church and my Neighborhood. I am a licensed Property Manager and keep my education current so I can be a contributor for the good of all the residents of Hamilton Mill. I look forward to continuing my service to the residents of Hamilton Mill.
My family and I have called Hamilton Mill home for the last 10 years since relocating from Texas. I originally ran for the board 2 years ago, because I wanted give back to the community and help contribute to maintaining Hamilton Mill’s excellent reputation. My first term on the board involved a great deal of learning on the inner workings of the community. There are a number of new amenities and major projects in the works, and I would appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve on the board to help see the projects to completion.

TENNIS AND PICKLEBALL NEWS
JUNIOR SPOTLIGHT Congratulations to Kennedy Martin! Hamilton Mill’s Level 2 player of the month. Kennedy is sweet, quiet and seems to always enjoy competing whether she’s winning or losing. Kennedy has great focus. She is always listening and trying to incorporate the instructions she is given on the court. Kennedy strives to do the right thing even if it causes struggle during execution. This and her positive attitude have earned her a spot in the Jr Spotlight. We thank you for your hard work and congratulate you! Keep up the good work! We look forward to continuing working with Kennedy.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
HAMILTON MILL PICKLEBALL
We are extremely excited for 2022! We saw amazing growth in the tennis program at Hamilton Mill during 2021. This enthusiasm for the junior program continued to build in 2021, where weekly participation increased to over 180 players and led to the program expanding to 18 clinics per week. We also added the Hamilton Mill Junior Instructional League, which gives players the ability to develop match play skills before entering ALTA team tennis. The Adult program also saw expansion with a higher number of participants in ALTA team clinics, weekly drop-in clinics, as well as an increase in private lesson requests. Additionally, we added the Hamilton Mill Summer Flex League. This gave residents the opportunity for competitive match play within the neighborhood. Furthermore, we added a new Sunday ALTA Ladies “C” level team in the Spring of 2021. June saw the addition of the Hamilton Mill Pickleball Facility with six pickleball courts. Pickleball Instructors, Walter Putnam and Michelle Milliman, came in to help develop programming for the facility. With their help we offered drop-in clinics, Junior clinics, weekly competitions, and private lessons for our pickleball enthusiasts. Michelle will be continuing the offer new and exciting programs in 2022! 2021 was an exciting year for the Hamilton Mill Tennis and Pickleball programs and we are looking forward to expanding the program further in 2022 with more exciting new events and clinics. See you on the courts! Hamilton Mill Tennis
