FROM THE BOARD

The Lake Luke Bryan may sing that “rain is a good thing” but there is one aspect of rain that is NOT good – it brings silt and debris into our lake and retention ponds. If you have been near the lake or live by the Treybyrne retention pond you will agree that both are currently filled with silt. Heck, the pier at the lake is now on land!!!!! While both of these areas are currently an unsightly mess, it does not mean your Board members aren’t working on improvements. We have met with several companies and are in the process of putting together a plan that will accomplish the following: • Remove the silt and debris from the Treybyrne retention pond area, restoring it to the look and feel that it had in the early 2000’s. • Remove the silt from the lake, restoring its beauty. • Moving as much of the silt as possible to the Treybyrne field. Then, once that has settled putting something in that area that can be useful to the community. One idea is to move the baseball field to that area; however, we are considering multiple options.

Call todayareas for a free In addition to removing the silt from these we are also working with Engineers to help create on-site estimate! a model where smaller build-ups of the silt can be removed on a more regular basis. This will help create a consistent cost model Expires that can be 3/31/19 budgeted on a regular basis, thus reducing the large-scale impact to our reserve funding. ALL FORMS OF FENCING:

CUSTOM BUILT WOOD PICKET & WOOD PRIVACY

As you can surmise there is a lot of work to be done in these areas, which will take time and money. While we currently have $25,000 budgeted for Lake Erosion in 2020, this money is being used for surveys to help gain a better understanding of how much silt will need to be removed. We have also approved $350,000 in 2021 to dredge both areas, and there may be additional funding budgeted in 2022 to finish the work on the Treybyrne field. Fortunately our reserve funding and operational spending are in great shape; so while we will be spending a significant amount of money in these two areas, we will still be able to maintain our other facilities and complete other projects such as upgrading entrances, improve lighting for our courts and upgrading the HOA fencing throughout the neighborhood. If you have any questions or feedback feel free to send us an email to hmillboard@gmail.com and as always, we thank you for your support of our initiatives as we continue to keep Hamilton Mill a premier neighborhood. FROM THE BOARD HOA Committee Volunteers Wanted Are you new to the neighborhood and want to meet more people? Have you ever thought about volunteering on a committee in Hamilton Mill? There are several to suit everyone’s interest! Do you love seeing our neighborhoods looking so beautiful and want to help keep them that way? Volunteer for the Grounds and Facilities committee! They meet on the 3rd Monday of every month in the Lakeview conference room at 6:30 pm. Do you love tennis? Are you part of a team or love to practice your skills on our courts? You can join the Tennis Committee to help make valuable decisions about how tennis programs run (including the new Pickleball courts!) in our neighborhood and help with the upkeep of the 16 tennis courts we have in Hamilton Mill. The Tennis Committee meets the 3rd Sunday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Lakeview Conference room.

Do you enjoy attending the fun events put on all year in Hamilton Mill? You can be a part of the planning team and join the Social Committee! You could help decide the next band for Chastain Night, help plan our festivals, plan adult events, and help with our charity outreach projects throughout the year. The Social Committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:45 pm in the Lakeview Conference room. Lastly, do you like numbers? Are budgets and spreadsheets something you are passionate about? The Budget and Finance Committee might be right up your alley! This committee is newly forming, so if you are interested in helping, please email propertymanager@hmill.com. Start out 2021 by volunteering and help keep Hamilton Mill an awesome place to live and play! If you would like to join a committee, feel free to contact hmillevents@gmail.com for Social, and maureen@shabenandassociates.com for Grounds and Facilities, Tennis or Finance committees.

Thank you to all of our committee volunteers for 2020! We appreciate everything you did to make our community a wonderful and safe place to live and play!
