What is Tumescent Liposuction? Liposuction was first introduced to the United States in the 1970s by Italian gynecologists, Dr. Giorgio Fisher, the inventor of the original form of liposuction. Then in 1978, French physicians, Dr. Pierre Fournier, contributed by further advancing liposuction. Liposuction became extremely popular in the United States by 1980 – along with complaints from patients experiencing excessive bleeding and rippling of skin. Dr. Jeffery A. Klein, a California dermatologist, invented the tumescent technique in 1985 that revolutionized liposuction surgery. The use of the tumescent technique allows surgeons to safely remove superficial and deeper layers of fat with relatively little discomfort. In the artistic hands of Dr. Dwayne Watkins, superior body sculpting results are achieved. The safety of the procedure is verified by the fact that no major complications have been reported in thousands of patients over many years. There is far less bleeding, bruising and faster healing.
The patient is able to walk immediately after surgery. Patients are not required to have strict bed rest and are encouraged to take long walks the next day. Tumescent liposuction effectively removes fat deposits from all areas of the body including face, neck, abdomen, hips, love handles, buttocks, inner and outer thighs, knees and arms. Dr. Watkins’ evaluation of the various liposuction procedures available, and his desire to use the least invasive with minimal recovery time for his patients, led to his practice solely focusing on tumescent liposuction. Dr. Watkins uses small, straw-like tubes called cannulas that are connected to a large bulb syringe that gently remove fatty deposits. The delicate instruments allow targeting of very specific areas with greater accuracy and sculpting. While it requires more of Dr. Watkins’ time, the benefit of body contouring and sculpting achieved greatly enhances his patient’s happiness with the results achieved. And that is Dr. Watkins’ primary focus – his patient’s long-term health and pleasure with their new appearance. Call 360 Med Spa Buford for a free consultation today at 770-932-2662.
Testimony “I had this procedure done two years ago at the location in Villa Rica, Ga. This was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I am now 46 years old and still have the waist that 360 Med Spa sculpted for me!!! If you are considering having this amazing procedure performed the staff is the best. That really care about your results.” - Rhianna

Dueling Pianos
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND… TWO NIGHTS IN FEBRUARY!
The famous Andrew Brothers were back for Dueling Pianos at the Lakeview Clubhouse on Friday night, February 8, and Saturday night, February 9. Groups of friends shared tables, food, and drinks as they listened to 3 solid hours of comedian pianists Damian and Mark play back and forth with requests straight from the crowd. We celebrated a 60th birthday, had plenty of rivalry requests from Ohio, Florida, Georgia and Texas, and had requests all over the place from Country, to Rock, to Hip-Hop classics. The crowd went crazy for “Can’t Stop the Feeling”, “Purple Rain”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, and “Pour Some Sugar On Me”. I cannot believe how many people still know all the lyrics to “Ice, Ice, Baby”! There was also a little friendly competition between sides of the room during “Sweet Caroline”! We closed both nights with a whole lot of laughs and singing along to “Piano Man”.
Thank you to everyone that came out and made this such a great time yet again!

GREEN VELVET LAYER CAKE Skip cream cheese frosting in favor of old-fashioned boiled frosting for this layered cake. LEVEL: Easy TOTAL TIME:1 hr 45 min YIELD: 10 servings
Ingredients Cake: 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (not Dutch process) 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon fine salt 1 1/4 cups buttermilk, well shaken 1 tablespoon green liquid food coloring 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract 2 cups granulated sugar 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
Directions 1. For the cake: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Butter three 8-inch round cake pans, line with parchment and butter the parchment; set aside. Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl; set aside. Whisk the buttermilk, food coloring and vanilla in a spouted measuring cup; set aside.
Frosting: 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1 1/2 cups milk 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar 4 teaspoons pure vanilla extract Pinch fine salt Green liquid or gel food coloring, optional Green candies and sanding sugar for decorating, optional
step keeps the flour from clumping.) Slowly whisk in the remaining milk until fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth. Cook over medium heat, whisking continuously, until the mixture is very thick, about 5 minutes. (Toward the end of the process, the mixture will become a thick paste; it may seem to be forming lumps, but whisk vigorously and the lumps will disappear.) Scrape the frosting into a bowl, press plastic wrap onto the surface and refrigerate until cool, about 45 minutes.
2. Beat the granulated sugar and butter in a stand mixer (or a large bowl if using a hand mixer) on medium speed until very light in color and fluffy, about 5 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. With the mixer still running, slowly add the eggs and beat until fully incorporated. Reduce the mixer speed to the lowest speed; with it running, add 1/3 of the flour mixture, then 1/2 of the buttermilk mixture, then 1/2 of the remaining flour mixture, then the remaining buttermilk mixture, then the remaining flour mixture. Scrape down the sides and beat until well mixed. Divide the batter evenly among the three prepared pans. Bake until slightly puffed and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center, 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool 15 minutes in the pan, then turn out to cool completely.
4. Using a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment (or a hand mixer), beat the butter and granulated sugar on medium speed until very light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add the cooled flour mixture a tablespoon at a time and beat until smooth. Switch to the whisk attachment (or continue with the hand mixer), add the vanilla, salt and 3 to 5 drops food coloring if using and whip until very light and fluffy, like thick whipped cream, up to 10 minutes with a stand mixer or 12 minutes with a hand mixer.
3. For the frosting: Put the flour in a small saucepan. Vigorously whisk in about 1/2 cup of the milk, making sure to get the whisk into the edges of the pan, until you have a smooth, thick paste. (This
Cook’s Note: This recipe can instead be baked in two 9-inch layers or as 24 cupcakes.
5. To assemble: Place one layer on a cake plate, spread frosting on top and repeat with the 2 remaining layers. Frost the sides and decorate with candies and sanding sugar if using.
