Covenants Committee

We at the Covenants Committee are going to start sending out friendly reminders in the Patriot and hopefully this information may be helpful to residents. Thank you to all that are adhering to the Covenant’s and recognizing that these regulations are necessary to keep our community a visual pleasing and safe place to live.

House Painting: If you are changing the paint color of your house you need to know that ALL paint colors must be prior approved by the Covenants/Modifications Committee, and the color must be approved by your immediate neighbors – those that touch their border. This pertains to the base color and all trim, shutters, doors, decking, and railing. For complete details go to www.fieldstonerpcommunities.com/reunion/home.asp for instructions and modifications information. For the complete list of approve paint colors please visit: Sherwin-Williams website under the Homeowners Association Archive. reunion-country-club

Exterior Building Alterations:

• A form must be submitted for all exterior building alterations. Building alterations include, but are not limited to, storm doors and windows, removal or installation of shutters, construction of driveways garages, porches, and room additions to the home.

• The original architectural character or theme of any home must be consistent for all components of the home. Once the character is established, whether it is traditional, contemporary, etc., no change may alter that character.

• Storm windows and doors must be made of anodized bronze or anodized aluminum with baked enamel finish compatible with the primary and trim colors. The FORM must contain the following instructions:

o Picture or drawing of all windows/doors on which storm windows/doors will be installed

o Picture depicting style of storm window/doors to be installed; and color

Fencing: Generally fencing is not encouraged according to Guideline No. 7 and therefore a form must be submitted for all fencing requests. That said, fencing might be approved for installation with the following understood:

• Chain Link fences are prohibited (understanding that chicken wire fencing falls in the same general category as chain link)

• A picture or drawing of the fencing type must be included in the modification form that includes dimensions, color, a site plan, and/or crossbeam structures

• Fences constructed on any lot must be of uniform style and construction, including fencing used for dog runs, which also requires submitting a form.

Other friendly reminders include:

• All cars parked in the roadway must be facing the direction of the traffic. They can be parked there only if no alternative is available in the driveway and only for a four-hour duration. Cars cannot be parked in a way that is considered hazardous as in the roadways that are curved or on a hill. Also, they should never be parked on the concrete areas of the walkways or on the grass.

• Trash cans must not be in view from the road or from the golf course.

We all must do our part to keep our neighborhood, and our investment, in the best condition and in compliance with the Guidelines of Covenants, be you own or rent.

Sing-a-long entertains at Empty Nesters meeting These guys can still play!

It has been reported on good authority that the Empty Nester’s November sing-along, hosted by Don & Judy Smith, was a huge success! Big applause and thanks to all who attended and participated in this fun and casual event. Guitarists and vocalists Don “McLean” Smith and Glen “Frey” Rush entertained the group with songs like “Sweet Caroline”, “All I Have To Do Is Dream,” and “Bye, Bye Love.” The event also marked two major birthdays: Don Smith celebrated his 75th while Mike Reiland welcomed his 85th. Congrats to Don and Mike!

Outgoing co-chair Sarah McElwee reports that, even with the weakness in the general economy, it looks as the the $35 annual dues will not change. Reviewing the past year, Sarah said, “We had a lively group and welcomed several new members. We enjoyed a diversity of events ranging from auctions to sing-a-longs and welcomed a return to “normalcy” now that the pandemic is over,” said Sarah. “I thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship and meeting of new members and loved it enough to stay on as Treasurer for 2023!”

We’d love to have you join us. The only requirement is that you have to be a “true” Empty Nester—that is, no kids living at home. Whether you are married or single, 30-something or 80-something, please think about joining us. You can email Sarah or incoming co-chair Joanne Giel at joannegiel@yahoo.com
