Did You Know? Monthly friendly advice for our Reunion neighbors about covenants issues & guidelines Spring-like weather is here and we have a few reminders for you: MAILBOXES
It’s time to refresh your mailbox paint and replace any missing numbers.
• Mailbox and Post: Must be painted with a Black Satin Finish • Flag: Must be painted in high visible Emergency Red Gloss exterior paint • Reunion Logo/Medallion: Must be painted in a Metallic Antique Gold with a paint marker such as Testers Enamel Markers or American Accents Leafing Pen • Mailbox Numbers: If your numbers need replacing, they should be 2” gold numbers on both sides of the mailbox. Contact information to order the Reunion approved numbers can be found on the Reunion website (see above).
THOSE IN VIOLATION WITH MAILBOXES IN NEED OF REPAIR CAN/WILL BE FINED. More details on mailboxes can be found on the Reunion HOA website, ReunionHOA.org under the Documents tab with contact information for ordering mailbox numbers or companies you can hire to repair/refresh your mailbox. IN REUNION You might have heard of pickleball, but maybe have no idea what it is and may wonder what all the excitement is about. But if you’ve played, you understand why it’s the fastest growing sport in America. Pickleball is a low-impact sport easily played and enjoyed by people of all ages and all athletic abilities. It’s not out of the ordinary to see seniors and kids on the same court! Pickleball can be described as a cross between tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It is played is on a badminton-size court (either free-standing or an existing tennis court), with a tennis net (but shorter), with a paddle (think ping pong), and a plastic ball with holes (think wiffle ball). Pickleball was invented by two gentlemen determined to create a game that the entire family could enjoy. They decided to use ping pong paddles, a perforated plastic ball, and headed to a near-by badminton court. They soon moved the badminton net from its 96” height to 36” tall and a few games later, pickleball was created. You may have noticed there’s no mention or use of pickles anywhere so where did the name come from? The dog (Pickles) of one of the inventors would run around and steal the ball when everyone was playing!
