Not all physical therapy is the same. Physicians recognize that advanced training in the field of medicine, especially board certification in orthpaedics (OCS) and hand therapy (CHT), combined with years of experience means better results for patients. BenchMark Physical Therapy, formerly Pro Therapy, has more advanced certified and board certified therapists than any other rehab provider in northeast Georgia, including dry needling, hand therapy and board-certification in orthopaedics. Our patients feel better and move better—faster!

YARD of the MONTH
Congratulations to Joyce Carey of 5908 Peacock Lane for being selected Yard of the Month for June 2016. It’s easy to breeze past this month’s Yard of the Month and if so, you will miss a multi-textured creation of magic. This front yard features the chartreuse green of Creeping Jenny against grey stones lining the front bed. Then, looking past this, you begin to see a carefully planned postcard picture of Boxwoods, ferns and beautiful hardscape on the porch. This includes an open hutch filled with interesting items. The back yard defies description.
2016 Pool Season Reminders Saturday, May 14 ~ Sunday, September 11 • 6am – 9pm
The Reunion Pool Committee would like to remind you of some important information and rules to keep the pool clean and safe as well as eliminate pool closures due to fecal accidents. • All children who wear diapers must also wear a swim diaper cover, NOT just a disposable swim diaper. These covers can be purchased at Target/Walmart as well as online. • Adult swim is a great time to take your children to the bathroom or remind them to use the bathroom. Even if your little ones can go alone at home, they often need help in the pool restrooms. Please accompany them, make sure they ‘go’ as well as leave the restrooms clean. • Please sign in upon entering the pool. • NO glass inside the pool gate including beer bottles. • Remember to check your seating area before you leave & do not leave your belongings, food or trash at the pool. • Respect the lifeguards and follow their instructions. Failure to do so can result in pool suspension.
Please help keep our pool area clean and beautiful! Thank you for your help, The Pool Committee

Empty NESTERS CORNER
EMPTY NESTERS PERFORM
“Bye Bye Birdie”
The Nester Theatre Group of Reunion County Club unveiled its most recent effort over the weekend of April 16th and 17th with their rendition of “Bye, Bye Birdie, Our Way”. The debut showing of the production was on Saturday night to a full house audience consisting of fellow Reunion Country Club Empty Nesters. The following day, on Sunday, there were encore performances at 2pm and 5pm for friends and family of the cast and crew. All three of the performances were played to full house audiences and were well received. “Bye, Bye Birdie” was based on a Broadway play and subsequent movie which were parodies of rock idol Elvis Presley being drafted into the Army and the reaction of his fan base. In the play, Conrad Birdie is the alter ego of Elvis. Both the play and the movie were themed around a fictional promotion to have Conrad Birdie give one last kiss to a randomly chosen member of his loyal and adoring teenaged fan club. The repercussions and ensuing events brought on by the promotion are both funny and entertaining.
Theatre Group, to date. All musical performances were done by groups or as solos with reliance on background music only with no lip-syncing throughout the show. The complexity of learning and performing songs along with more involved choreography and the changing of backdrops for the various scenes were much more involved than in previous productions. Hats off to the cast for reaping the results of months of hard work and dedication. Many thanks go out to the Directors and Producers of the show, as follows: • Director and Choreographer – Merridee Michelsen • Assistant Director – Peggy Reiland • Musical Director – Lauren Viljamaa • Producers – Rosemarie Wood & Linda O’Donnell Special thanks to the behind the scenes teams of those responsible for refreshments and for set up and break down of the set.
The Empty Nesters invite any Reunion Seniors 55 Boasting a cast of 24 while featuring 10 musical numbers and following on the heels of productions of and over to join the group!. The NEIGHBORHOOD Watch
June is a great month. School is out for the summer and the pool is open. With the great weather and sunshine, kids will be outside having fun. The Reunion Neighborhood Watch Committee asked Chuck Poteet, Hall County Sheriff ’s Office Community Relations Coordinator, to give us some suggestions for the community as the school year ends.
• Walk on side walk facing traffic...you can see what or who is coming. • Avoid strangers in cars or on foot. • Accompany children when going to an ice cream truck.
Below are some of his personal reminders and suggestions.
Beyond Chuck’s suggestions, it is important for drivers to be extra cautious as the school year ends. Kids will be excited and may not be thinking about their personal safety so drivers need to be extra cautious in looking for children during the summer. Parents can help by reminding their children about staying safe and watching for cars.
Chuck says it is very important to let children know it is always ok to call the Hall County Sheriff ’s Office and to know they are there to help. He wants to make sure no one is ever fearful to call. Law enforcement is your friend. He asks that the numbers are available at all times: Emergency: 911 Non-Emergency: 770-536-8812 Chuck’s suggestions for children are based on his own experiences. • Children should not answer the door to anyone, stranger or otherwise when home alone. • Doors should remain locked when home alone. • Teach children more than one way out of the house in the event of an emergency, along with a safe spot to go while waiting to regroup with family. • Practice phone safety; children should not indicate that they are home alone, (i.e., parents unable to come to phone at moment, in yard, on another phone etc.). • Children should be walked (by parent, older sibling or responsible party) when travelling to a neighbor outside of eye shot of home.
Tips for Drivers: • The last week of school is an exciting time for children and they may become preoccupied. Use extra caution when driving through the community. • Always watch for children as you’re backing up. Walk around your vehicle to make sure no small kids are behind it. • Be aware of children between cars in parking lots. Tips for Parents: • Focus on the basics. Teach your children to make eye contact with the driver before they cross. • Remind them to walk, don’t run across the road and; To stop, look and listen before crossing the street. • Use caution when walking in parking lots drivers may not see children between parked cars and the children may not see the cars moving.
Keeping kids safe while school is out and throughout the summer months is the most important goal. Let’s all work towards that & have a great time 20
