COMMUNITY NEWS

Change, Change and more Change….. This seems to be the theme of the year. Every day is different and we are continually changing how we respond to the challenges presented by the pandemic. When change is in the air, it is a great time to re-evaluate your strategy in many areas. For me personally, I have made changes in how I spend time with my children, how I renew after a stressful day and how I work. The list goes on and on. Working on your financial plan is extremely important as well. Here’s why. 1. Many people will continue with status quo even if what they are doing isn’t really working. Let’s face it, no one likes change. Until we hit a pain point, we will fight it until the bitter end. 2. Even if your finances are strained right now, having a plan in place can help keep you on track when things pick back up and can help you make decisions about withdrawals. 3. We have all heard the saying that “Failure to plan is a plan to fail”. You will be unsuccessful with your financial plan if you choose not to put the work into one. 4. Having a plan that you feel good about can help alleviate anxiety. 5. Changing your financial behavior is hard. Use the momentum of an existing change to help you get traction with budgeting and saving. Not everyone needs to spend less, but many do to achieve financial security. If you feel like you need help with this, let me know. The best time to ensure you are on track with your future is now. I am here to help. The American Red Cross would like to thank the residents of Traditions of Braselton for your blood donation at our blood drive on June 6th. We appreciate the support we have received from this community. There were 25 donors who showed up to donate on June 6th and we were able to collect a total of 23 pints. This is the second highest pint total drive we have had there since our very first drive in 2017 which had 34 donors and collected 31 pints. We value your partnership and look forward to seeing your blood drives continue to grow in the coming years. Thank you, American Red Cross

SOCIAL COMMITTEE NEWS

From the Social Committee: We hope everyone is safe and healthy! We are so sad that all of our sping events have had to be cancelled due to the virus. We are missing planning all of the fun things for our neighborhood! We are hoping the fall will be jammed packed with fun. Please be safe and stay healthy! A NOTE FROM THE SOCIAL COMMITTEE: I still hear stories of people that do not hear about our events here in the neighborhood! If you have new neighbors, introduce yourselves, and make sure they are signed up to receive emails, are on the Homeowners private Facebook page, the Traditions Community Facebook page, and that they are getting the newsletter! If everyone is on these 4 avenues there is no way of not knowing what is going on in the neighborhood!!! Also, Traditions has grown so much our events are RSVP! The only way we can plan is to have everyone RSVP even for free events (remember if you rsvp for free events…we plan on you being there). We purchase according to the rsvp…so if you do not show up, it is money wasted). There also will be events that are for residents only so watch the details on each event!

NEWS FROM THE MANAGER Grounds (Dumping and Landscape Companies) We have previously sent out correspondences regarding dumping in the neighborhood and would like to remind residents again that throwing trash in dumpsters on job sites is prohibited and will be considered trespassing. Additionally, we have asked that you speak with your landscape companies and instruct them not to dump landscape debris anywhere on the property. The HOA has spent $1000 having areas cleaned up that people have dumped in and chained those areas off to prevent this from happening in the future. We are requesting that you send us the name and contact information for your landscape companies so that the HOA can send them formal notice as we need this practice to stop at once. ARB/Construction in progress There are currently 71 homes under construction, of these there are 17 presales and 54 specs (10 of the specs have been sold). This is a lot of activity which naturally can cause some inconveniences for owners and your patience is appreciated while driving through the neighborhood and as construction is taking place near your homes. If you have an issue to report regarding construction in progress please email: arb@ traditionsofbraselton.org; ARB management is very quick to respond and have issues corrected. Golf Course The golf course closing is scheduled to take place on June 1st, and we are very excited to be close to starting this new chapter. They have published new and attractive membership rates and we encourage everyone to consider joining. Please contact Casey Haney (770) 899-7870 the new Membership Director for information. The restaurant will begin remodeling as soon as the closing occurs as they are meeting with architects to finalize the new design. It will be of course open to everyone in the community and have a member’s area as well. Covenant Enforcement In the past 30 days a total of 101 violations were generated. Of these 31 violations have been cured/closed, 17 where pre-existing or escalated, and 53 are new. Below is a diagram which shows the percentage of each type of violation. Most common for this time of year are landscaping violations but you will also see that there has been a problem with vehicle violation parking, trailers, recreational vehicles, etc.) and trash and debris storage.

On my last inspection it was noted that there are many mailboxes that are in need of some sort of maintenance. Rather than send out 150 individual letters to address this I would like to encourage all owners to be proactive and check your mailbox for the following:  All numbers in place  Is the mailbox clean? Many boxes have mold or bird droppings that are unattractive and need to be cleaned up and, in many cases, painted.  Is the mailbox strait  Is the door and flag in working order? Flags that hang down or doors that are missing or do not shut need to be fixed. Here is an image of how your mailbox should look: You can order mailbox numbers at: www. addressesofdistinction.com and if you need assistance in maintenance you can contact Brett Schwartz: 918-605-4209. Please take the time over the next few days to check your mailbox and perform the necessary maintenance. We will begin to generate violations for this item during our next property inspections. Please also be mindful of the following:  Trashcans must be stored out of view from the street or neighboring properties;  Please submit a modification request for any changes to exterior of your home;  Please keep your property in a clean, well-kept manner (yard tools, debris etc. should be removed promptly). This is includes the rear of your home when your yard is visible from the golf course, any street or neighboring property;  Please ensure that your lawn has been properly treated for weeds and fertilized; lawn maintenance should occur on a regular basis and your lawn and landscape beds should be free of weeds and grass and ample pine straw or mulch should be installed at least twice per year;  Automobiles, trucks and vans must be parked in garages or driveways and may not be parked elsewhere on the property. Unlicensed or inoperable vehicles are considered a nuisance and will be removed. No motorized vehicles are permitted on pathways or unpaved common areas. For example, golf carts should not be operated on sidewalks;  Recreational vehicles including but not limited to motor homes, boats, jet skis, trailers, motorcycles, minibikes, scooters, go carts, golf carts, campers, buses, commercial trucks and vans must be parked in garages or be subject to removal from the property. Recreational vehicles may be operated on the streets within the neighborhood by a licensed driver in accordance with Georgia law;  The exterior of your home (to include the roof) should not have any rotting wood, missing shutters, peeling paint, mold or any other unsightly condition;  Yard signs are not permitted. If you have a contractor working on your home, please make sure they do not place a sign in your yard;  All pets should be leashed or otherwise controlled by the owner when outside a Unit and shall not be allowed to become a nuisance by barking or other acts. Owners must clean up after their pets.  Mailboxes should be properly maintained. You should have brass numbers on both sides of your mailbox, paint should not be faded or peeling, and post should be strait.

The Fruit of Love

The Bible teaches, “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 15:5-6). All Christians should seek the fullness of the Holy Spirit, which is the true pathway to unity. The fullness of the Holy Spirit produces genuine kindness, faithfulness, and holiness. Lukewarm Christians must be challenged regarding their prideful dispositions, prejudices, and lack of love for people who are different. Lukewarm Christians often dedicate themselves to an exalted and prideful mindset and do not express genuine care for people that they deem to be less significant. One’s love for God should direct their path and dissipate division and chaos. The Bible teaches in Revelations 3:15, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! Because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” The word of God is profitable to those who obey Christ sincerely. Paul says that “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Tim 3:16-17). A disturbing reality for many is when people claim Christianity but are unable to express love; instead, they are authors of division and hatred. As Christians, we have not received the spirit of the world. Our values and way of living are inspired by God. God’s word provides instructions for His children in how we behave and live. True believers will not harbor unforgiveness or dedicate their time to casual sins of the flesh. The Bible teaches, “Do not get drunk

with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). Seek to be led by the Spirit and to bear the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:18, 22–23); for this is the pathway of love for God and others. If you are a stranger to the Holy Spirit, you will care little for the unity he builds. You will also care very little about living a holy life. Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind (1 Peter 3:8). Community Bible Study Group: Lloyd, Portia, Ranah, and Sariah Ocampo

Traditions of Braselton Community Prayer Chain Most of us are aware of the power of prayer and the comfort it brings knowing others are praying for healing and comfort on our behalf. Because Traditions is such a caring community, we have decided to establish a prayer chain. If you would like to support your neighbors in need with prayer, please email Traditionsprayerfamily@gmail.com, and we will establish a group email. From that point, anyone who has a prayer concern can email that concern to Traditionsprayerfamily@gmail.com, and it will be forwarded to our prayer warriors. Please be mindful that some people are very private and may not want their situation shared, so be sure to ask permission to place them on the prayer list. Most, however, derive strength and hope knowing as many people as possible are lifting prayers for them. As our neighborhood grows, it is important to strengthen and expand our connections within the Traditions family. Please share this outreach with our new neighbors who may not yet be in the directory. We hope to have it listed in the monthly newsletter soon. Peace in Christ, - Carol Mays - Traditions Prayer Family Facilitator

This group has three consecutive tee times every Sunday morning. In Spring, Summer and Fall, they begin play at 9:30 AM. More tee times can be added depending on how many couples wish to play. Please contact Lynn Kolb at 706-824-0247 or galynn20@yahoo.com for more information. Every Tuesday, Lynn sends a text to interested parties asking for a response by Saturday morning. All are welcome to join in and they look forward to adding more couples as the weather warms up. *Couples on Sunday – Noon during winter.

LADIES’ GOLF GROUP

Currently, the ladies have standing tee times Monday through Friday in the morning. If you are interested in joining the Ladies Golf Group (even occasionally), please email Pam Poppe at poppepampaul@gmail.com. Each Friday, Pam sends an email to the group asking which days you are interested in golfing during the coming week. She only asks for a 48-hour notice so she can add or cancel tee times. Do not worry about handicaps since the skill levels vary widely. These women golf for fun!

SENIOR MEN’S GOLF GROUP

The senior men gather to play an organized format of stroke play on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You never know who you will get paired with on these days, so it’s a great opportunity to meet your fellow neighbors and make new friends. On Thursdays, it’s just pair-up and play with whomever you like (assuming they

want to play with you too). The course is closed on Tuesdays. Currently, our block of tee times starts at 9:30 AM. You can play as often or as little as you like; just show up at least 15 minutes before the first tee time. This is a social group with members of varying skill levels. Once the virus is behind us and the expected updates are made to the restaurant, every spring and fall the men will again gather with their significant others at the club for a fun evening of dinner and fellowship. Currently with the virus, we will continue to play as we are able. With respect to social distancing, there will be a one per person per cart. To ease the crunch for cart that this is causing, the Club has waived the rule against driving your persona; cart as long as it does not have studded tires or is a high rider. For more information, contact Steve Morrell at shmorrell44@gmail.com or at 1-706-654-6034 (h) or at 770-861-610 (c).

MEN’S GROUP (MGA)

Come out and meet your neighbors in a fun and welcoming group. The TOB men have weekly organized games on Wednesdays at 1:00 PM and Saturdays/Sundays starting at 8:00 AM. We also sponsor diverse and fun monthly tournaments throughout the year. The MGA has neighbors of all skill levels and ages. NEWS FROM THE COURSE

Membership Information CREATING YOUR CLUB Traditions Golf and Country Club is becoming the club the community has always desired – beginning with a multi-million dollar renovation to include improvements to the course, facilities, and practice area. There’s never been a better time to join! THE COURSE Already widely known as the best golf layout in the area, and the best is only getting better. The first of several course improvements will include removing our current bunkers and replacing them with the Capillary Concrete Bunker System. A concentrated effort to create better air flow for our bent grass greens will provide better putting conditions throughout the year. Additionally, each hole will be addressed to create a more enjoyable round while maintaining the original layout. THE MEMBER FACILITIES AND RESTAURANT The facility improvements will contain a completely new members facility and restaurant run by the area’s best, Jack Ansley. The new restaurant, Twenty7, will have a 200-seat capacity, a full bar, a beautiful outdoor area which overlooks a nine-hole putting course. The lighted putting course and patio will provide an inviting atmosphere that you and your fellow members will want to be a part of! The creation of a members-only facility will provide spacious areas to mingle with other members, grab a delicious meal, or just relax and enjoy your club. THE PRACTICE FACILITY The driving range upgrade will provide better range balls, aiming greens, targets, and the ability to receive insightful instruction. The addition of a dedicated short game area will give you all the tools needed to improve your game from 50 yards and in to lower your handicap. INVALUABLE RELATIONSHIPS We offer far more than just golf! While many were drawn here by the course, the discovery of friendship and camaraderie quickly redefined our greatest asset as that of the membership itself. Member social activities include but are not limited to: End of Month Theme Party, Twilight Golf, Golf Leagues, cookouts on the patio, and Holiday Parties. The restaurant will offer breakfast on the weekends, with lunch and dinner daily. There will be the always popular Happy Hour with live entertainment and much, much more!
