As the first hints of spring show themselves, the area is also starting to burst with things to do. Following on the steps of the very popular Visitors Center 2013 Geocaching Trail, Villages of Berkeley County, March 15th is the kickoff of the 2nd trail, Gadgets of Berkeley County (GBC). Prior to the kickoff is the 6th Annual Geocaching Seminar sponsored by geocacher WVTim. The seminar will have something for every level of geocacher, from the beginner to the experienced. The Gadgets of Berkeley County Trail will have 13 caches with a mandatory night cache. Most of the caches are gadget caches-easy to find, but hard to open. Look for the event on geocaching.com. Doors open at 8:00 a.m., the seminar starts at 9:00 with the Trail going live later in the day. The CVB will have a table with information about the area and their geotrails. “Connecting Threads” Quilt and Fiber Arts Exhibit opens March 16th at Berkeley Artworks “Connecting Threads” will bring together the diverse forms of creativity thriving in the Eastern Panhandle region, the people who make it, and the community at large. Quilting has grown from its traditional utilitarian form, cozy warmth on chilly fall and cold winter nights, in colonial days to a vibrant eyecatching three dimensional celebration of color and design.
