Receives Grant Valley Vehicle Fin er
he Uptown Music Collective is proud to announce the receipt of a $10,000 matching grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The grant will support the nonprofit music school’s existing educational programs and provide much needed classroom and project oriented music technology, including a fully equipped small recording studio which will be free for student and staff use. A “matching grant� requires the recipient of the grant to match the gift dollar for dollar from other sources. To match
the $10,000 the Uptown Music Collective will start with the traditional route of approaching local foundations, businesses and donors who may be interested in partnering with the Uptown Music Collective and the National Endowment for the Arts to make this exciting and highly beneficial project happen. At the same time however the nonprofit music school will also be seeking funds for the project by harnessing the power of social media and the internet. The grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and its supporting match will also
bring new technology to the Uptown Music Collective’s classroom and general music education programs, including; smart board technology, an ear training laboratory and support for the school’s new Accelerated Music Mentoring Programs(A.M.M.P) mentoring piece and curriculum development.
