with accuracy (which means practice, practice, practice) to be effective. Groin: This area is very effective on a man. Many women’s self-defense program mistakenly make this a priority target but, you must remember that, most men learned to protect this area from the age of 3 or 4 years old. And, there is nothing worse than having to deal with a male attacker that you enraged even more because you went for this target... and missed! Spine: The lower spine may the least protected area and the tail bone may be the most sensitive. Knees: A well-placed kick to the side or back of a knee can literally stop an attacker in his tracks, and make it impossible for him to chase you. Shin: Another highly Sensitive area, especially when struck by hard kicks or foot scrapes. A must for any solid, women’s self-defense program! Top of the Foot: The small, bones of the foot are excellent targets for smaller defenders. Either strike at the base of the ankle where it meets up with the foot or, if possible, the point where the toes connect to the foot. As you can see, there are many good targets on a man’s body that will give you the advantage and time to escape. But remember, learning these lessons, and learning how to apply effective techniques that actually work in a real attack are completely different things. Take the time to know what you need, and then seek out a knowledgeable, qualified, and “experienced” women’s self-defense expert to teach you what you need to know to be safe, secure, and prepared!
