In Saint Paul’s letter to us, we are told to avoid being like the world around us. If we copy the behaviors of the world, we will walk straight toward destructive dependencies. But if we turn our will and our life over to the Lord, God will begin to work changes within our life, making us into a new person. See, God wants to change us from the inside out. And as we are changed on the inside, we will begin to feel changes in our external attitudes and actions. See, we all have great potential for change. However, we cannot change under our own power. As we surrender our life and will to God, we can also

depend on God to renew our mind and heart. In this way, God will transform us from the inside out.

If you can afford it, have it professionally detailed. However, if you do it yourself, be sure to use a pressure nozzle in order to rid your car of any leftover road salt or sand from the winter. Direct sunlight can cause a car’s finish to become dull, but a thorough washing and waxing can also help keep your car’s paint and clear coat looking good. It’s tempting to run the car through an automated car wash, but those big revolving brushes can dull the finish over time. If you’re not allowed to wash your car at home due to regional laws or neighborhood rules, seek out a good drive-thru wash and hand wax instead. • Check and set your car’s tire pressure to the level specified in your owner’s manual or on the driver’s door sill. As temperatures warm up, the air in your tires can expand and that might impact the way the car handles. Be sure not to over-inflate the tires.

Millennials: Invest for Financial Future The majority of Americans say retirement investing is a priority, but more than half consider Social Security a topthree source for funding retirement, and 40 percent of millennials expect Social Security (along with 401(k)s and pensions) to fund their golden years, according to Capital One Investing’s Financial Freedom Survey. “With the future of Social Security uncertain, all Americans, and millennials in particular, should be proactively planning for their financial futures,” said Yvette Butler, president of Capital One Investing, a full-service brokerage. “There are consequences to sitting on the sidelines, most importantly a smaller nest egg in the long-term.” Capital One Investing found 93 percent of millennials say that distrust of the markets, lack of knowledge, little understanding of pricing and costs, and general complexities make them feel less confident about investing. “Now more than ever, the onus is on the individual investor to plan for a financially stable future,” said Butler. “The industry needs to offer millennial investors educational tools and transparent products that will support them as they do so.” With that in mind, Butler offers several ideas that may help younger investors establish a straightforward financial plan they can stick to. • Start early: The earlier you start planning and investing, the better. Once you have an emergency fund saved, you may want to consistently contribute to a diversified retirement account to try to maximize your long-term gains.
