Used Car Dealer In Bloom Opens With A Revolutionary New Way To Buy Used! (Bloomsburg, PA) Dear Neighbors, We are excited to announce CarCara Inc. is now open with a revolutionary car-buying process: The “CarCara Way” and Open Book Pricing (TM). Before I explain this, I would like to first explain why we have done this.

After being involved in over 10,000 car deals across 7 different regional markets, I became fed up with many of the dealers I have worked for forcing me to be a “Typical Car Salesman.” I grew tired of the games they made me play; the same games you have grown to expect and forced to accept. So my wife and I turned our back on these dealers, refused to play their games any longer, and decided to CHANGE THE GAME for you.

home, according to a National Association of Home Builders survey. “A fireplace can give you the competitive advantage you need to sell your home faster and at a higher value,” says Andy Tesch, brand director for Heat & Glo, an industry-leading fireplace manufacturer. Options abound to make a fireplace a possibility in any room of the house -- including kitchens and bathrooms, or even outdoors. And there’s a fireplace to fit your style and needs, whether you’re going for a contemporary look, want authentic masonry styling with the functionality of gas, like the TRUE series from Heat & Glo, or need a focal point for your outdoor space. You can even upgrade your woodburning fireplace with an efficient gas insert. Whatever you choose, a fireplace gives your home a “wow” factor. New Deck To improve home value significantly and take better advantage of every square inch of your property, extend your living space outdoors. A deck is a dramatic addition that makes a statement. For a sound return on your investment, build with wood. Wood offers a 75 percent return, as opposed to composite material, which only offers a 64 percent return, according to the same Remodeling Magazine Report. While there are some maintenance costs associated with deck upkeep -- staining, pressure washing and furnishing -- doing it yourself can make this a worthwhile upgrade. Be an informed homeowner. Put your money where it counts with smart home upgrades that improve your comfort today and attract buyers tomorrow.

Valley Vehicle Fin er Agriculture Secretary Offers Amusement Ride Safety Tips

VALLEY HO E IMPROVEMENT

Adventure seekers looking for thrills on amusement rides across Pennsylvania should follow basic safety tips, Agriculture Secretary Russell C. Redding said today during a visit to Kennywood Amusement Park in Allegheny County. “Pennsylvania fairs and amusement parks are great opportunities to spend time with family and friends,” said Redding. “We want to remind everyone of the importance of taking the proper precautions to ensure that each of their ride experiences is a safe one” Approximately 70 percent of injuries on rides occur because of rider error. “The safety of our guests is always top priority here at Kennywood,” says Kennywood General Manager Jerome Gibas. “While our

and the public notice sign verifying it has been inspected according to Pennsylvania Amusement Ride Safety Act standards. Before getting in line for the ride, check and follow boarding restrictions, including those for medical concerns, height and weight. Listen carefully to all instructions. Operators are trained to keep riders safe. Make sure ride operators are alert. Never board a ride if the operator appears to be inattentive. Keep your arms, hands, feet and legs inside the ride at all times. Always remain on the ride until it comes to a complete stop. Use shoulder harnesses, seat belts, lap bars or chains appropriately. Stop riding before you get tired. Tired riders are

more likely to be injured than alert riders. Stay hydrated. Not drinking enough water can increase your risk of injury or illness on some rides. When riding with or assisting a child, know their capabilities and take an active role in determining whether a ride is appropriate. Instruct your child on acceptable ride behavior before boarding. Always supervise your child on a ride. Ask the operator to stop the ride if you see that your child is crying or shows any other signs of distress. “Everyone has a responsibility to say something if they see something,” said Redding. “If the ride operator is not alert, you should never board the ride and notify a park employee immediately.” The Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Ride and Measurement Standards registers more than 10,200 amusement rides and attractions – more than any other state or foreign country – and certifies and trains the state’s more than 1,650 professional private industry inspectors. The department has inspected and registered amusement rides under the Amusement Ride Safety Act since 1984. It regularly participates in education and outreach seminars that include classes and handson demonstrations for ride operators and inspectors. Amusement rides are a staple of Pennsylvania’s 109 county and community fairs. For a complete listing of the state’s fairs, including locations and dates, view the 2016 Pennsylvania Fair Guide online at www.agriculture.pa.gov and search “Fair Guide.” For more information about ride safety or the Bureau of Ride and Measurement Standards, call 717-787-6772 or visit www. agriculture.pa.gov and search “Amusement Rides.”

And long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in helping others” (Ephesians 2: 10) And so, to have a true view of where we fit in the scheme of things, we need to see that God has a purpose in and for each of our lives. See, God created each one of us with certain and special abilities and talents. God likens us to a part of a body where every part is needed for the proper working of the whole, not only in our working relationships but also in our family lives and personal relationships. See, if you isolate any one part of a body and examine it, apart from

its proper place among the other members or parts, it may seem odd and useless. However, it is only when that part is connected to the body and doing its primary function that it realizes its usefulness to the body. And so it is with each one of us in our lives and in our relationships. We need to find a place where our talents and abilities can be used to help others. Doing this will show that we have gained a greater understanding of the person God created us to be and become. See, God loves us and wants to help us realized our place in life, in the body

We might feel like we are not good enough to be an example for other people. We may realize that we need other people, but find it difficult to believe that our story could help anyone else. The apostle Paul said, “Just as there are many parts to our bodies, so it is with Christ’s body. We are all parts of it. And it takes every one of us to make it complete, for we each have work to do. So, we belong to each other, and each needs all the others.” (Romans 12: 3-5) Saint Paul also said, “It is God himself who has made us what we are and gives us new lives from Christ Jesus.

Energizing Breakfasts for Weekday Mornings favorite breakfast treat has an extra boost of antioxidants and Vitamin C. For a less intense green color, peel the zucchini before blending into the batter. Make-Ahead Savory Muffins Muffins can be sweet or savory and are easy to take on the go. Create tasty, satiating breakfast muffins with a crust made of blended cauliflower, spinach, eggs and spices. Mold the crust into the bottom of muffin tins, top with an egg and bits of cooked bacon or ham, and bake for a make-ahead breakfast item. Silky Green Smoothies Smoothies are a great grab-and-go breakfast item that can be customized to each family member’s tastes. A handful of fresh greens can increase the nutritional value of nearly any smoothie recipe. Use the natural sweetness of fruit as a camouflage for vegetables. Pineapples, oranges and grapes are particularly good ingredients to marry with vegetables. Apples can offset greens with a slight bite. Experiment to figure out your favorite combinations, increasing the amount of greens as your family becomes more accustomed to them. To get started, try this recipe for a Basic Green Smoothie: Ingredients: • 1/2 banana, peeled • 1 1/2 cups green grapes • 1 medium orange, about 5 1/2 ounces, whole, peeled but with pith intact • 1-inch thick slice pineapple with core, peeled • 1 1/2 cups packed fresh spinach • 1/8 teaspoon grated lime zest or thin slice of lime with peel, about 1-inch diameter • 2 Tblsp agave nectar • 1 cup ice cubes Directions: • Place ingredients into blender in the order listed NEW MERCHANDISE EVERYDAY! and secure lid. Greens for breakfast might sound unconventional, but starting the day with vegetables is a fantastic way to check off some of the daily requirements for vitamins and minerals, plus get the energy needed to stay full and focused all morning. If your family isn’t exactly keen on greens, these simple breakfast items can ease everyone into a healthier morning routine. Satisfying Smoothie Bowls Smoothie bowls are sweet and satisfying -- and meant to be eaten with a spoon. Thicker than a typical smoothie, these delicious bowls are a mix of fresh and frozen produce, blended with your choice of superfoods and toppings. Include leafy greens such as kale or spinach and seeds like chia or hemp for a power-packed breakfast. Add avocado for a silky texture, then top with fresh berries, nuts or seeds. Pumped-Up Pancakes Use a high-powered blender, such as the Vitamix Professional Series 750, to whip up pancakes with a secret ingredient -- zucchini. Probiotics: Common Myths and Shocking Truths With all the attention paid to health and wellness these days, it’s no wonder that probiotics are such a hot topic. Probiotics support digestive health and strong immunity (70 percent of our immune system is located in the digestive tract); however, there are a lot of myths surrounding them. With the global probiotic market expected to climb to $36.7 billion in 2018, according to BCC Research, consumers should get the truth about how to reap probiotic benefits before shelling out their money. Here are a few myths and facts to consider from probiotic experts at Ganeden, a leading manufacturer of probiotic ingredients: Myth: If a yogurt product has the Live & Active Cultures seal on the label, it is “probiotic.” Fact: The seal indicates that at the time of manufacture, a refrigerated yogurt contained at least 100 million cultures of Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophiles per gram, and that a frozen yogurt contained at least 10 million cultures per gram at the time 570-428-3377 of manufacture. This sounds pretty impressive, but depending on storage condi-

tions, cultures used, and other manufacturing processes, there may be only a small fraction of the cells left by the time the product reaches your spoon, due to their naturally short lifespan. The good news is there are products that contain far more robust cultures. For example, GanedenBC30 (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086), a strain of probiotic bacteria, survives at rates of nearly 100 percent, and can be found in a variety of food and beverage products. Be sure to check the ingredient listing or look for its circular logo on packaging. Myth: Fermented foods like kimchi, sauerkraut, miso and natto are good sources of probiotics. Fact: It depends. While many of these foods do use naturally occurring live cultures to begin fermentation, the pasteurization process will kill almost all living bacteria, even the good guys! If the fermented product is raw, meaning it was never pasteurized, it will contain bacteria, but it won’t necessarily be probiotic. The organisms used to produce the fermented food have not always been studied -- so whether they provide a health benefit to the consumer is unknown. For benefits to your digestive health and immune system, seek out foods and beverages with added probiotic strains that have research showing their benefits, like GanedenBC30. Myth: Added probiotic strains can’t survive in foods and beverages outside of the refrigerated dairy case. Fact: Some strains can, such as GanedenBC30. Its stability is due to a unique protective spore that gives the probiotic an ability to survive harsh manufacturing processes, product shelf life and, finally, the journey through the digestive system. These special characteristics allow it to be included in foods like oatmeal, muffins, coffee, orange juice and even pizza -- providing probiotic options that fit every lifestyle and preference.
