Companies are requested to donate gifts and items... and visitors may purchase CMN Raffle tickets to enter the drawings that will be selected by Miss Pennsylvania, Juliann Sheldon, who has chosen CMN as her charity platform during her reign. HERE IS HOW IT WORKS... Useful items with a minimum value of $15.00 are displayed in front of CMN canisters along with business cards or collateral material of the donors. Visitors may purchase 6 tickets for $5.00 and deposit them in the canister in front of the prizes they hope to win. The Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau (SRVVB), which is the Tourism Promotion Agency for Snyder, Northumberland, and Union Counties, has partnered with Katherine Faull, Professor of German and Humanities at Bucknell University and Cindy Inkrote, Director of the Northumberland County Historical Society, to produce a driving tour brochure that highlights the rich Native American and Moravian history in the Susquehanna River Valley. The “Native Paths” brochure is the first of its kind in Central PA and was a truly collaborative project between the Visitors Bureau, Bucknell University, and the Northumberland County Historical Society. The brochure takes the reader back to the colonial period, some 270 years ago, when Native Americans, colonists and Europeans came together to trade, negotiate, and live. The brochure follows common paths used for exchange, communication, hunting, and war for Native peoples for centuries before the arrival of the European settlers.

he Uptown Music Collective, the area’s premier nonprofit school of music, will be holding their annual Summer Open House on Saturday, May 5th from 11-2pm, at their facilities at 848 West Fourth Street in Williamsport. Prospective students will able to tour the facilities, meet with teachers, and register for lessons, classes, and workshops.
Established in 2000, the Uptown Music Collective has developed a reputation as the premier source of music education in the area, with an enrollment of over 120 students. Offering private lessons at all levels on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals, as well as classes and workshops in music theory, songwriting, and styles such as the Blues, Jazz, Classical and Rock. The primary age range of the Collective is 10 – 18 yrs old, but is open to all ages and levels. Along with private lessons, the UMC offers a myriad of programs including Forits theflagship LadiesPerand formance Program. This program educates students about the ins and outs of major and minor performances, including direction, production, preparation and technical aspects of the performances. During the Open House on May 5th prospective students will be able to enroll for the school’s 16 week summer semester, which will run from May 7th and will run until August 25th. There are openings this summer for students of all levels who are looking for private instruction on the guitar, bass, drums, keyboards/piano and voice.
