The Susquehanna River Valley Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society will hold its third annual Conservation & Sportsmen’s Banquet Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Genetti Hotel, 200 W. 4th St., Williamsport. Featured speaker for the evening will be Ruffed Grouse Society President & CEO Dr. Benjamin C. Jones. He will discuss some of the habitat initiatives taking place in northcentral Pennsylvania, as well as the direction the national organization will be headed in the future. A native of Mansfield, Pa., Jones took the helm of the RGS national organization in June 2018. Prior to that, he had worked for the Pennsylvania Game Commission for more than a dozen years, most recently as Habitat Division chief. Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in wildlife and fisheries science with a forest science minor from Penn State University, a master’s degree in wildlife ecology from Mississippi State, and a doctorate in natural resources from the University of Tennessee. The annual fund-raising banquet will get under way with a social hour and hors d’oeuvres beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner at 7 p.m. The evening will feature live and silent auctions, raffles, drawings and door prizes, highlighted with a selection of firearms, artwork and collectibles. Proceeds from the Feb. 9 banquet will be used to enhance and create high-quality habitat for ruffed grouse, American woodcock and other forest wildlife on public land in Pennsylvania. The Susquehanna River Valley Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society focuses its habitat work and member-recruitment efforts in the counties of Lycoming, Sullivan, Clinton, Potter, Tioga, Bradford, Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Union and Snyder. Individual dinner tickets are $40 without a membership or $70 with a membership, which includes a one-year subscription to the Ruffed Grouse Society magazine. Membership is not required to attend. We regret to inform you that due to the looming threat of terrible weather our area is predicted to receive on Saturday, the Uptown Music Collective will be postponing 25 Or 6 To 4: The Music of Chicago and Friends, the Collective’s Annual Scholarship Fundraising Performance at the Community Arts Center. We will be moving the show to next Saturday night, January 26th at 7:30 pm at the Community Arts Center. If you have already purchased tickets for this show, the tickets will be honored on the night of the 26th. If you are not able to attend due to the postponement and would like a refund to this performance, please return your tickets to the vendor you purchased from for a full refund. If you purchased tickets but do not physically have them (Will Call), please contact the ticket vendor for a full refund. Please know that the Uptown Music Collective did not come to this decision lightly. In our almost 20 years of major performances, we have never postponed a performance. This time the threat seems too great to take the risk. The safety of our performers, those attending the performance, and all of those involved with our show is of the utmost concern to us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Collective on Facebook, by calling 570-329-0888, or by emailing jared@uptownmusic.org. We hope to see you on Saturday, January 26th at 7:30 pm at the Community Arts Center for 25 Or 6 To 4: The Music of Chicago and Friends, the Collective’s Annual Scholarship Fundraising Performance.

I have had cheap hearing aids. I had very expensive hearing aids. I was never happy. I love my new hearing aids because I do not have to worry about batteries, and I know they are not going to quit on me. it has opened up a whole new world for me. The television volume went down. Everything is so clear. It’s been a really great experience at Artisan Hearing Technologies. - Patricia Wetzel

I had a hearing problem, but I would not admit it. The family was always after me to get a hearing test. I heard about Artisan Hearing Technologies and I thought I would try it. I drove past the office a few times before I finally stopped in and had a hearing test. I had hearing loss. No pressure from Jennifer Burget, but I decided to take a hearing aid out on a 2 week trial. I was very surprised at what I was hearing, no more repeating myself, no more huh. The TV volume went down. I love the app for my smart phone, it’s great! If you want the best hearing aids and service I recommend Jennifer at Artisan Hearing Technologies. - John McDermott

I thought hearing aids were much more expensive than what they were. Jennifer took the time with me to make sure I got what I needed and that I understood what I got. I wish I had done this sooner, or at least checked into it. My hearing aids sound amazing. I like to listen to music again and I can hear at work. Artisan has the most up to date equipment, I have been to other places and I know what they do, and their is a difference with the use of the equipment and I know. Jennifer’s level of professionalism is like no other. - Karl Seyler
