Divots Jan 1, 2016 From the Pro Kim GriGGs, PGa haPPy new year! We hope everyone has a safe, healthy & and Happy 2016. thanK yoU On behalf of my staff and me, I would like to extend a very sincere thank you to everyone who dropped us a card or goodies this Christmas Season. Pace oF Play I have received several questions lately about what is expected of players as far as “pace of play” on our golf course. First of all, our new 9 hole time frame is 2 hours and 5 minutes. It is very important that you keep up with the group in front of you. Also, remember that there will be twosomes, threesomes and foursomes on the course and also golfers only playing 9 holes. Gaps will occur because of this; however they should tighten up as long as everyone is playing within the allotted time. Please listen to the Rangers when they ask you to pick up the pace, pick up your ball or skip a hole as they are only doing their job. Hitting in to the group in front of you and or yelling at them will not be tolerated. leaGUe Play Men’s 18 Hole Club

From the assistant ricK samPle PGa Recently there have been some questions and comments on pace of play. I wanted to address the policy of pace of play at The Views. Many people seem to get caught up in gaps between groups. Gaps between groups may or may not be an indicator that a group is slow. The time frame the round is played in is the real concern. As long as a group plays their round at or under the par time that has been set for the course then they are ok. If two groups start right next to each other and the trailing group falls behind exceeding the par time then the ranger will address the group to speed up play. However if the leading group is playing well under the par time and this creates a gap between the groups we will not force the trailing group to speed up and play under 4 hours just to close the gap. Also you may see a gap between groups because that is the way they started. If two groups started with a gap in between them we will not force the trailing group to speed up just to
close the gap. We will ask the group to speed up if they are playing slower than the par time set for the course but not solely because they started with a gap between them and the group in front of them. Also to remind everyone that the busiest part of the year is coming up very soon. Those that have been fortunate enough to play through the summer and fall slower times at a very fast pace of play will have to put your patience shoes on and understand it will be crowded. Enjoy the beautiful course we have here and the other great people you are playing with. May we all have a great season at The Views.
