The Vagina Monologues is taken from the experiences of over 200 women

At first women were reluctant to talk. They were a little shy, but once they got going, you couldn't stop them. Women secretly love to talk about their vaginas. They get very excited….The Vagina Monologues was a way to bring some awareness to cancer and encourage women to examine themselves regularly.

74-YEAR-OLD PENSIONER SHAMES TORREVIEJA COUNCIL

So that's how this started – talking to women about their vaginas, Doing vagina interviews, which became The Vagina Monologues. It's the experience of over two hundred women, older women, young women, married women single women, lesbians, corporate professionals, sex workers, African

It was also a chance to raise a few euros for two cancer charities. The AACC and MABS. Two very different charities. The First AACC which targets Prevention and The Second MABS which specialises in the care of people that have cancer already. The evening raised E700 which was split equally in two, with both charities getting E350 each.

Whilst shed loads of taxpayers’ money are spent on the futuristic La Siesta Park the surrounding San Luis, La Siesta and El Chaparral communities are sinking under discarded rubbish, litter, dog dirt and weeds. Much the same can be said of Torretas I, II and II.

Such is the neglected appearance of these once showcase areas that long-term La Siesta resident 74-year-old Gary Oliver felt he had little choice but to personally do the council’s work for it by clearing and collecting weeds from outside his home in Calle Ravel.

The situation is even worse in San Luis's Avenida Abanto, a vital road that serves all three communities. The once splendid dual carriageway is now an eyesore blighted by overgrown weeds, broken pavements and kerbs.

The pensioner has the support of other residents in demanding that Torrevieja council pay attention to the entire community not just their grandiose developments.

New Domestic Routes planned from Corvera

High-Speed Train, as well as direct flights to Barcelona.

Fernando LÛpez Miras, President of the Region of Murcia, made the announcement confirming that the routes will be formalised this week.

Corvera Airport will have new domestic routes from November, with Madrid offering competition for the newly inaugurated AVE

So from November the Airport will have two round-trip connections a week with both cities, "once the administrative process has finished", the president indicated. The measure to connect Murcia with Madrid and the city of Barcelona was raised by numerous business leaders due to "the deficient AVE service provided in the Region". The PPleader, who is also standing for reelection, therefore announced, "connections with Madrid are recovered after more than six years".
