In an attempt to keep themselves out of trouble Terry The Tarantula and Ruby The Red Back have been doing a spot of gardening.

Since they are both carnivores they’ve decided not to grow fruit or vegetables but are hoping to cultivate other useful plants.

Flowers and plants provide a useful home for spiders as they lie in wait for their prey. They are very efficient hunters and have a wicked way of eating. Using their sharp fangs, spiders inject poison into their prey, paralysing or killing it before injecting the prey with digestive enzymes and sucking it up. Some even eat other spiders.

Most spiders hunt by night and won’t come out from their hiding places until after dark. If you don’t like the idea of spiders enjoying a midnight feast at your place, call in the experts!
