he Salvation Army Family Store in Wanaka is here to sell good quality donated items such as furniture, bric-a-brac, clothing, jewellery, books etc. The proceeds raised by sales, are used in providing support to the community of Wanaka. It may be by way of helping a family in part funding a school trip, which the children may have otherwise not been able to attend, clothing, helping first time parents with clothing and baby equipment. At the time of the Christchurch earthquakes, goods were sent through to Christchurch. The list is endless but due to confidentiality of those helped; the work that The Salvation Army does usually goes unseen.
