HELLO WANAKA!!! COME IN TODAY TO MEET THE NEW OWNERS
SOON COMING
Serving fresh authentic Japanese Sushi Fresh Juices and Coffee Fresh Salmon/Nigiri, Teriyaki Chicken, Rice Balls, and much more to come…
Wanaka will soon have a new option for working parents seeking care for their children after the end of the school day in the form of ‘Wanaka After School Programme’ aka WASP! Organisers are making final preparations to have it up and running in Term 2 and are looking for expressions of interest from parents and caregivers keen to reserve a space.
Inside the Spencer House Mall 03 443 4222
The programme will be open to any children aged between 5 and 13 that are currently attending Wanaka Primary School, Holy Family School or Mount Aspiring College. WASP’s headquarters will be located in the Board Room (next to the OP Shop) at Wanaka Primary School and will be open every school day between 3.00 and 5.30pm with a walking bus to collect those children attending from Holy Family School. The aim is to create affordable, localised childcare in a safe, fun, place that is central to the schools where children can enjoy spending an extra couple of hours with friends while following a tailored programme. This would included an afternoon tea to restore flagging energy levels, quiet areas and supervision to complete that all important homework! As well as pre-planned table-top activities and play activities. Primarily the service is intended to benefit
• Established Wanaka
working parents who have up until now had to juggle the demands of a full working day and the 3pm school pick up. However organisers are also trying to cater in a degree of flexibility so that in addition to regular weekly attendees, there may also be provision for later notice one off spaces, helping any Wanaka parent should a special need arise such as an appointment, trip out of town or even an extended day up the hill! WASP will also be working towards Oscar accreditation which could mean that some parents may be eligible for subsidised childcare fees, making it both the convenient and affordable option. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in applying to enrol your child, or would like further information. Please contact Jacqui Cubie on waspwanaka@gmail.com or call/ text 021 AT WASP 1 (0212892771).
