Mount Aspiring College is excited to be performing “For Today” in the Lake Wanaka Centre from Thursday 21st June - Sunday 24th June. This musical is set in a typical New Zealand high school and contains all the ingredients of a great show – tension, love and a big dash of laughter! Almost sixty cast, dancers, backing vocalists and fantastic live band members have been practising hard all term whilst another twenty students are gearing up to help backstage. Performing on a stage in front of a large audience is a lot of fun, but is also an
invaluable experience for our students. In addition, some students will be using this opportunity to gain NCEA credits.

2. 01/06/2012 Local police tailed a wanted man from Lake Hawea (where he had been staying) as far as Lake Parangi on the West Coast where he was arrested on warrant, for failing to appear after abandoning his vehicle and trying to escape into bush. He is to face charges of driving at a dangerous speed, possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis oil, possession of ammunition. He is due to appear in the Greymouth District Court from where he originates from.
