Jess and Betsy Mahoni Rae - Sharing their story
The growing number of people affected by Breast Cancer is alarming and we all know someone who has been or is affected! Several locals have come together to help make a difference. The format is “Boobs ‘n Bubbles” being held on Thursday 12 September at the LWC from 5.30 - 7.30 pm raising funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation. Betsy and Jess Mahoni Rae will take us through their recent journey. Betsy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on 22nd December with her first operation in January 2013 – a total of 5 operations in 5 months, plus chemotherapy whilst starting a new business in the Rebuild of Christchurch. Her story is called “Dancing with Cancer”. It is truly a story that will touch us all. Jess is sharing her experience as a daughter and supporter. Some of us really haven’t got a clue! “Boobs ‘n Bubbles” will bring you tears and laughter and the opportunity to support so many in more ways than one. Our feature of the night will be “What’s behind the boobs” - a $10 ticket gives you the chance to win a booby prize right through to items valued at up to $300. The charity
