If you already own a few antique pieces, but want to mix and match with more modern styles, look to your accessories to help bring each piece together cohesively. Blend the old and new. Write down family recipes on thick paper, then stain them in various types of tea to help make them look older. Finally, frame them and hang them on the wall

in modern, glass picture frames for an antique and modern look in one. Make what's new, old. Take a few tricks from www. ApartmentTherapy.com, which successfully transformed an Ikea basic card catalog into a vintage-looking piece by sanding down the corners of the draws to appear more rounded and worn, then staining the wood a dark teak and oiling down each piece. Finally, the designer added authentic brass
card file pulls and created labels in Photoshop using a vintage script. Blending modern and antique styles is all about balance, so look at what you currently have and how to make each piece work together cohesively. Then, slowly add vintage pieces whether furniture or accessories - into your home as you can afford to do so. Either way, the extra thought and effort will pay off in the long run.

Do I look sad in my picture? I am trying not to be sad. I tried to muster up a smile but this was the best I could do that day. I love to be outside, although I do get outdoors for walks with the volunteers while I am here at the shelter, when I figured it all out I am in my kennel like 20 hrs out of 24 hrs, everyday of the week. I hear them say what a playful good sport that I am, that I love to cuddle & that I have a great personality. I don’t know what that means but they say it with a smile so it must be good. I know I am a good dog cuz I don’t mess my kennel & because I am 3 yrs old now, & a brindle Staffordshire terrier, my loyal & loving personality is set. I just want to hug & love my own forever person. Will you be my forever hug? I am trying to wait patiently but it gets harder every day. Ah, here comes a visitor now, maybe they are going to pick me. Oh, they went right by & took a kennel mate. Maybe tomorrow you will come & get me; I hope so, then I can really smile without even trying. I bet I will make you smile too.
For more information please call (413) 564-3129 or stop by the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter 178 Apremont Way, Westfield, MA
WILLIS How can anyone resist that face, that is only one of the many reasons Willis is much loved by the volunteers at the shelter, where he is now waiting for you to take him to his forever home. Willis is a Staffordshire terrier about 1 1/2 yrs old & at a great age for training. He is game for anything & is a strong, handsome boy. This is the kind of dog who would be willing to climb over brush & debris for hour after hour searching for his owner should they be separated. And he would not stop till he found you, his loyalty is that strong. He loves to play ball but would cuddle with you on the couch just as quickly. Willis needs an active household where he would be part of the family. He needs a lot of exercise & would be better in a home with children over 13 or older. If you want a lifetime pal, chum & companion who would never let you down, please come & see Willis & that face will steal your heart. With the winter months here, we are in need of canned dog food for all our canine guests. Thank you from all of us at the Westfield Regional Animal Shelter; a Shelter that Westfield can be very proud of.
