CLASS OF 2018
27 Bartlett Street • Westfield, MA 413-568-5692
My name is Danielle Bovat and I am a graduating senior at St. Mary’s High School in Westfield, MA. I am honored to take some time to reflect on my high school career. As I look forward to my graduation on Friday, June 1st, I am overwhelmed with so many emotions. Firstly, I am overcome with joy and gratitude for the twelve years of memories I have made here. St. Mary’s has become my second home. However, there is something even more profound about St. Mary’s; an essence which reaches beyond its physical walls and that is the fact that we are truly a family. Our teachers, faculty, students, and alumni have the most incredible bond that I have ever witnessed. Furthermore, I would not be where I am today if it were not for the phenomenal teachers at St. Mary’s who have dedicated countless hours to educate young minds. They have not only imparted their knowledge and wisdom upon the whole student body, but have shaped us into the young men and women we are today. Moreover, I will always cherish the friendships I have made here which I know will withstand the test of time. The school’s welcoming environment has always made me feel supported and loved. I am very grateful for the small class sizes which allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone and reach my full academic potential. Outside of the classroom, I was blessed to be involved in many extracurricular activities including the Respect Life Club, Student Council, Key Club, Yearbook, and Class Office. Not only have I learned how to be an exceptional leader, but I have grown tremendously in my relationship with the Lord. I am so passionate about Catholic education because it offers such a rigorous curriculum infused with the core values and mission of our Catholic faith. There is no doubt in my mind that as I walk down the aisle at graduation, I will be more than prepared to further my education, pursue my dreams, and fulfill the Lord’s plan for my life. Additionally, St. Mary’s has instilled in all of us a passion for serving our community and has shaped us into young men and women who know the true value of hard work and unwavering dedication. I am extremely sad to leave the hallways and classrooms of St. Mary’s which have been my home for the past twelve years. However, I am ecstatic to begin the next chapter of my life. Although I will be attending college hundreds of miles away from home at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio, the love I have for my St. Mary’s family will always remain nestled in the depths of my heart.
