Sevenars 49th anniversary season Sunday, August 6th, at 4 PM: Jerry Noble and Friends! A favorite – yet always refreshed – tradition, this concert features the inimitable Clifton “Jerry” Noble, Jr. with the talents of legendary jazz clarinetist Bob Sparkman and dynamic young classical cellist Christopher James. Bridging styles and generations, Mr. Noble, nationally soughtafter as both composer and pianist is unmatched. His more than twenty years of jazz collaborations with clarinet wizard Bob Sparkman have become a local treasure, resulting in five immensely popular CD recordings. Mr. Sparkman developed his golden phrasing playing with The Jazzmen, The Bourbon Street Six, the Gotham Jazz Band, and Fats Waller’s trumpeter Herman Autry (among others). Christopher James, alumnus of Tanglewood, Soundfest, and Bard festivals, returns from a season playing in four orchestras in New York, with performances at Symphony Space, Lincoln Center, and Weill Hall. He will perform one of the greatest jewels of the classical repertoire, Elgar’s Concerto, Op. 85, in Elgar’s own piano-cello ver-
sion. With some bossa novas and a Bengali surprise with special guests to be announced, there should really be something for everyone! Sunday, August 13th at 4PM: Rorianne Schrade, piano Returning after a five-year hiatus from solo recitals necessitated by family matters, Rorianne plays a preview of her New York recital, September 19, Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall. In response to her 2011 recital in London’s Wigmore Hall, Rorianne was praised for “mastery of one aspect of keyboard playing after another” (Max Harrison, Musical Opinion) and for “An Outstanding Evening” (Headline, Music and Vision Daily) by Bill Newman, who likened her to the great György Cziffra and to Claudio Arrau “at the height of his performing powers.” Her October 2011 All-Liszt (200th Anniversary) recital at Weill Hall elicited a review (RobertaOnTheArts.com) stating that “Rorianne Schrade is one of the most dynamic, impassioned pianists I’ve seen in live perfor-

Sophie, a Lab, is a spry and active 14 year old. Don’t let her age fool you! Sophie has a lot of spunk left in her! Sophie loves to be in the company of people, enjoys walks, and playing ball. Sophie has a lot of love to give and would make a great companion for an active family. Come to Westfield Animal Shelter to meet Sophie!
Ms. Tamale came to the shelter as a stray. Although her family contacted the shelter, they did not come to get her- and we don’t know why- she’s a catch! Tamale is an older lady, but she has a lot of spunk! She loves to roll in the grass on her walks and receive snuggles and pets from the staff. Because she is a small, older lady, Tamale is looking for a home without young children. She may be good with some dogs. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Come in and meet Tamale!

Dancing Has No Age Limit No matter if you like doing the “The Hokey Pokey” at a party, the “running man” challenge in a social media video or performing on stage with a ballet company, everyone, no matter the level, has something to gain from dancing. The inclusive art is accessible to all with countless benefits being had. Unlike with many forms of exercise, there are no rules when it comes to dancing. Participants range from toddlers to retirees; anyone can join in and enjoy the experience. We know that movement is good for everyone. A healthy lifestyle is integrating the mind, body and soul relationship, and dance has all of those characteristics. Dancing forces you to feel your muscles, bones and joints. Getting in touch with your body in that way is the first step to any “Over 40 Years of Service” kind of physical fitness. 146 Main Street (Route 20) Westfield, MA

The formal definition of DANCE is to move the feet and body rhythmically, usually in time to music. We have a new definition for DANCE! At The Dance Slipper children and young adults break through those barriers… we not only move rhythmically to music, our dancers use their body to artistically bring music to life! To witness the BEST experience in dance, visit us at: The Dance Slipper 3 Industrial Road P.O. Box 1044 Southwick, Ma. 01077, (413) 569-3896 or on the web at: www.thedanceslipper.com
The Dance Slipper’s Philosophy…
DANCE is the perfect form of self-expression. It is a great way to exercise your body, mind and spirit. Brenda Barna, owner and Artistic Director of The Dance Slipper, along with her skilled staff, believe in working with each student individually to bring out their personal best. Challenging them to break through their own boundaries while building self-confidence. The caring and nurturing attitude of the staff receive high praise from the parents of The Dance Slipper students, which is also part of our teaching philosophy. Children need to feel safe and trust us, in order to let their inhibitions go, move freely to enjoy the dance. The Dance Slipper’s GOAL is to give each student a positive and enjoyable learning experience that aides in the development of the mind, body and spirit!

Dance & Theatre Co.
Nutmeg’s is truly a family atmosphere, it is extremely supportive and noncompetitive, and great emphasis is placed on technique, creativity, fun, and achieving one’s personal best! Nutmeg’s Dance & Theatre Co. was founded in 2003; with 11 dancers, a teacher, and a dream. Today, we operate in a 3,200 sq. ft. studio and have over 250 boys, girls, and adults, dancing with us! Our goal is to provide top notch dance education in a professional, non-competitive, family like environment. Owner/ Artistic Director of Nutmeg’s, Meg Fenton Funk, better known as “Nutmeg” to her dancers, waited until she was 6 years old and attending Cultural Arts Camp in Bloomfield, CT to begin choreographing. When she began her formal training at 12 years old, her dance teacher, Melissa Jean Feder, of Terpsichore Dance & Theatre Company, taught her that anyone could dance, regardless of their age, race, disability, body type, or financial means. Now, Meg is passing on that philosophy to her students. Meg grew up in Granby, CT, and attended the Greater Hartford Academy of the Performing Arts in Harford, CT. At the Academy, Meg trained in all forms of dance, including Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, African Dance, and Modern. She also received vocal and acting training. After graduating from the Academy, Meg ventured on to the Big Apple! She was accepted into the Marymount Manhattan College Dance Department, and was able to train with phenomenally talented teachers, such as Milton Myers of Alvin Ailey, Anthony Fero of Twyla Tharp Dance Co., Ed Kresley, and Chet Walker, cochoreographer of the hit broadway show, “Chicago”. Meg was also a scholarship student at Broadway Dance Center, where she took classes with Wade Robson, Cris Judd, Luam Keflesky, Shane Sparks, Mia Michaels, and many more. Meg also earned a spot as a dancer on the MTV show, “Direct Effect”, and in a Jennifer Lopez MTV Special. In 2011, Meg got certified in Zumba Fitness, and has had the best time dancing with hundreds of wonderful people. Staying fit, healthy & happy has never been so much fun! In June 2014, Meg traveled to the White Lotus Yoga Foundation in Santa Barbara, CA, to attend their 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Ganga White and Tracy Rich. It was the experience of a lifetime, and she is so excited to embark on this journey and share her love of yoga with others! Meg opened Sunflower Yoga as
