This is a study with no written homework, this is a study that is solely spirit filled; that will lead you to a place of mercy, healing, peace and presence. Along with the study we will have Praise and Worship Music Ministry to bring us further into prayerfulness; when we sing his praises, we are praying twice! The Wild Goose is a term that the ancient Celts had for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has been given to us to lead us to the heart of God. This study will take place on the second Monday of each month from 6:30 – 8:00pm in our Parish Center. You will have an opportunity for fellowship and light refreshments. There is no charge for this bible study and everyone is welcome to come. A free will offering would be graciously appreciated to offset any costs. VHS to DVD-R fundraiser for Gateway film studio Gateway’s Video Production class continues to raise funds for new equipment and other needs. They are converting home videos and educational videos from VHS to DVD as a yearlong fundraiser. The class provides videos of current events on the district website, and also creates film for video competitions, generates music videos and movie remakes. The cost is $10 for the first conversion, and additional DVDs of the same item are just $5. Under copyright laws, television shows and movies that have been taped cannot be converted. Educators’ school videos are free (limit 5)! Converting a VHS to DVD should take approximately 1-2 weeks, unless more than 10 tapes have been submitted—that could take up to 4 weeks. VHS tapes should be brought to the High School Office. For more information, contact Christine O’Malley by emailing comalley@grsd.org.

Kanetoberfest Planned for Oct.6 to Aid Dogs in Need Kane’s Krusade, a nonprofit organization that helps dogs in need in the Springfield area, will hold their fourth annual Kanetoberfest on Saturday, October 6 from 12 to 5 p.m. at Dave’s Soda and Pet City, 151 Springfield St., Agawam, MA. In addition to food, music, and vendors, Kanetoberfest will feature a large raffle with items such as Red Sox memorabilia, themed baskets, high-end pet products, restaurant and entertainment gift certificates, door prizes, a prize wheel and much more. New this year at Kanetoberfest, Kane’s Krusade

will be co-sponsoring Trick Dog and Stunt Dog trials along with Do More With Your Dog!®. Do More With Your Dog!® is the official sanctioning and organizing body for the sport of Dog Tricks. Trials are open to the public, but you must preregister to compete! For more information on this fun and exciting opportunity, or to pre-register, visit domorewithyourdog.com. A $5.00 donation is suggested for admission. For a $5.00 donation or higher, attendees will receive a $5 coupon for Dave’s. Donations of canned dog food are also welcomed and encouraged. This is a dog friendly event. Friendly, leashed and vaccinated dogs are welcomed. Please, no retractable leashes. The mission of Kane’s Krusade is to improve the quality of life for dogs in the most under-served neighborhoods in Western Massachusetts. Kane’s Krusade keeps dogs with their families by directly addressing the root causes of surrender – economic, behavioral and tenant/insurance issues. The organization distributes C.A.R.E. Kits (Canine Assistance, Resources and Empowerment) to families in need to help them care for their dogs in difficult times and prevent surrender to shelters. For more information, visit the website at www. kanetoberfest.com or contact Kim George at (413)

At that point, the total number of points given by the contestant will determine winner. In the event of a game not being completed, that game will not be considered in the final tabulation for that week’s games. It’s not a new idea. In fact, The Westfield News has been providing readers with “hyper local” news coverage of Westfield, Southwick, and the Hilltowns all along. Television, radio and regional newpapers only provide fleeting coverage of local issues you care about. TV stations and big newspaper publishers, after years of cutbacks and mergers, frankly aren’t able to provide in-depth coverage of smaller markets anymore.
