Grandparents & Kin Raising Grandchildren, the Grandfamilies: support groups in Hampshire County You may ask, just what are Grandfamilies? Grandfamilies is the name used to describe families that are created when a relative or friend rises to care for another relative’s children. This happens for a multitude of reasons, with the occurrence on the rise. There are even great grandparents parenting again! Along with the satisfaction of helping and the joy, there are many difficulties that also surface. To help alleviate your difficulties and added stress we offer support groups where you are welcome to come, to learn about resources, to share and be heard. Our groups are relaxed, friendly and supportive. We invite you to join us at any one or all of the groups listed below. If you are unable to attend a group but would like someone to talk to or for more information, call/text the Kinship Care Resource Coordinator at 413-8344073. Huntington Town Hall has been displaying local artists’ paintings for the past few years. Visitors regularly commented on the beautiful paintings hanging on our walls. The Selectboard is grateful to Alma LaFrance and her group of artists for their beautiful work that visitors have enjoyed all these years. Inevitably things change, and we are once again seeking artists to display their paintings or photos at the Huntington Town Hall. Local artists are encouraged to contact the Huntington Selectboard Office at (413) 512-5200.

Alll contestants acknowledge as a condition of entry, that Westfield News Group, LLC has a right to publicize or broadcast the winner’s name, character, likeness, voice, or all matters incidental herein. If the winner is instructed by Westfield News Group, LLC or its affiliates to personally pick up their prize, it must be claimed within thirty (30) calendar days of winning. Upon pick-up of prize, proper picture identification (i.e. valid driver’s license, passport) from the winner may be required. Contestants choose one team to win each game from the list of NFL games for that particular week. The winning entry will be the one with the most wins on Sunday. In the event of a tie among more than one entry, the Sunday night game score will be used as a tie-breaker. Contestants are to choose the total number of points scored in the Sunday night game. To be given credit for the tiebreaker, the contestant must come closest to the total points scored in the game. Westfield News Group, LLC will award a maximum of one (1) prize per week. The exact number of prizes awarded each month will be decided by Westfield News Group, LLC in its sole discretion. The prizes to be awarded each week will be determined by Westfield News Group, LLC In the event that there are more eligible winners than the number of prizes awarded for a particular week, Westfield News Group, LLC will randomly select one winner for that particular week. Winner is determined by most correct games won. The tiebreaker is used when more than one entry have the same number of wins. At that point, the total number of points given by the contestant will determine winner. In the event of a game not being completed, that game will not be considered in the final tabulation for that week’s games. The grand prize winner will be selected by a random drawing of all entries better than “The Putz” from throughout the entire 17-week regular season. This contest is merely for entertainment purposes. ister to compete! For more information on this fun and exciting opportunity, or to pre-register, visit domorewithyourdog.com. A $5.00 donation is suggested for admission. For a $5.00 donation or higher, attendees will receive a $5 coupon for Dave’s. Donations of canned dog food are also welcomed and encouraged. This is a dog friendly event. Friendly, leashed and vaccinated dogs are welcomed. Please, no retractable leashes. The mission of Kane’s Krusade is to improve the quality of life for dogs in the most under-served neighborhoods in Western Massachusetts. Kane’s Krusade keeps dogs with their families by directly addressing the root causes of surrender – economic, behavioral and tenant/insurance issues. The organization distributes C.A.R.E. Kits (Canine Assistance, Resources and Empowerment) to families in need to help them care for their dogs in difficult times and prevent surrender to shelters.
