Whigfield is a Danish singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. She is best known for her 1994 single “Saturday Night”, which became an international hit. Chesney Hawkes

Malvern’s cycling sensation Evie Richards has been formally recognised for her Commonwealth Games success by members of Malvern Hills District Council. The 21-year-old represented Team England at the games on Australia’s Gold Coast and claimed a silver medal in the women’s mountain bike cross country race. In honour of her achievement, Malvern Hills District Council invited Evie to attend Tuesday’s Annual Council meeting (8 May) so they could formally congratulate her. She was also presented with a special certificate of recognition on behalf of the people of the district. Speaking after the meeting Evie said the support she had received from her home town

Drama undergraduates worked with nursing experts from the University to develop a workshop to teach eﬀective communication around children’s end of life care to student nurses.The workshop was delivered to a wider audience at the RCN International Nursing Research Conference. The project started last year, when the departments of Drama and Nursing combined forces to produce a workshop with both taught and practical sessions. A participatory performance, which included a range of situations involving a communication problem, was developed by the drama students in conjunction with the expert advice of Nursing experts at the University. The performance included scenarios that were based on the reallife experiences of children’s palliative and end of life care faced by final year student nurses during their training.people with complex disabilities.

This keeps your house neat and tidy and more importantly liveable whilst you prepare for the move • Declutter. It’s always good to declutter so what better time to oﬄoad all those items you haven’t used since the last time you moved! •And finally make sure you put some essentials in a bag so you know that once you have put all the boxes into your new home, you can sit down and have a brew without having to look through all the boxes to find a cup and the tea bags!

PADDLE, PLOD & PEDAL 2018 On the 24th June, St Richard’s Hopice will be hosting The Paddle, Plod and Pedal event. The Paddle, Plod and Pedal follows a circular route through beautiful Worcestershire countryside along the River Avon and quiet country lanes. With a total route of approximately 45 miles, this is no easy feat. This is an all-day challenge, but not a race. Teams of 8-10 people will set oﬀ in the bell boats from Pershore at 7am to Tewkesbury, then walk to Kempsey and cycle back to Pershore.Each element of the challenge is between 13 and 15 miles, which will be completed as a team at their own pace. Challengers will be welcomed back to Pershore Football Club at the end of the challenge for well deserved refreshments and a medal to celebrate their success. There is no entry fee for this challenge however we would like you to pledge to raise £1,500 or more per team. Everyone knows there is a curse to sequels, sequels very rarely match up to their predecessors. When the predecessor is brilliant, a bad sequel can bring huge disappointment. This was my worry with Deadpool 2. The first Deadpool was fantastically funny, and quite frankly, a breath of fresh air from the typical superhero films which it so often made fun of. Could Deadpool 2 live up to expectations and be just as funny? My answer is yes! Deadpool 2 follows on from Deadpool, with Wade Wilson getting serious with fiancée Vanessa. However, when a villain breaks into his home and shoots Vanessa, Wade’s life is turned up side down. However, he must continue to fight bad guys, in the shape of Cable who has come from the future to kill a child. It’ll take a great team to help Wade succeed. Can he work as a team? Will he share the spotlight in his heroic adventure? The film continues to make comedic references to other superhero films whilst breaking down the fourth wall to reveal exactly how a great super hero movie is made. When A Loved One Passes When a love one passes away we are left feeling lost and alone. Such a devastating event turns our world upside down. Understanding what grief is, experts say is crucial to overcoming the grief. It is important to recognise how you are feeling and to be able to come to terms with those feelings. There is no single way to grieve, everyone will experience grief differently. Dr Phil identifies how to deal with grief in simple steps in his book, Real Life: Preparing for the 7 Most Challenging Days of Your Life. 1. Be Patient With Yourself It is important to understand that grief has no understanding of time. While it may take some months, it may take others years to stop feeling grief. It is important to focus on the present, do small tasks throughout the day, have weekly goals to focus on. Keep one foot in front of the other.

6. Recognize That Time Is Infinite Carpe Diem. Seize the day! See time as a currency that you have to spend. Make time for friends and family and for doing the things you love. Tick things off your bucket list. Do the skydive you’ve always wanted or take a holiday. 7. Create Value From This Experience Learn from this experience, remember how you got yourself through it. Think about what you learnt about yourself. 8. Think About How You Will Prepare for Your Own Death Make sure your family know what to do when the time comes. Prepare yourself financially and make a will. 10. Celebrate Life! Remember all the happy memories you and your loved one shared. Celebrate their life as well as yours. Your loved one would not want you to remain unhappy.

2. Adjust Your Expectations Grief is different to everyone, don’t let yourself or anyone else have expectations on how long or in what way you should grief. 3. Accept What You Cannot Change There will be a big feeling of being helpless, and a lot of things will be out of your control. A big part of grieving is being able to accept the things you can’t change and focus on things that you can. 4. Find Strength In Others Friends and family will be of most importance to you in such a situation. Open up to those who have had similar experiences. Talk about your emotions, they may have great advice. 5. Don’t Get Stuck Don’t get stuck within the negativity. Find a new hobby, get back into work when you feel ready, if needed, see your doctor.

It’s not a position you might expect Force India to be in, given their fourth place finish in last year’s championship. But according to driver Esteban Ocon they’ll soon be climbing the order... The Frenchman’s optimism comes after he recorded his best result of the season so far with sixth place in Monaco on Sunday – a result he believes should be a sign of things to come from the team at the next round in Canada and beyond. Ocon ran a long first stint in Monaco and then held off intense pressure from a train of cars to take his first top-ten finish on the famous street circuit. But it wasn’t just the result that left the Frenchman glowing. It was also the performance – and more importantly potential – of the car he had beneath him, in the form of the Mercedes-powered VJM11. “The pace we had in the car was unbelievable,” he added. “ The Silverstone-based squad now have 26 points – seven more than Toro Rosso in seventh and 14 less than McLaren in fifth.
