The Old Oak By Sean Oros ’15 It is easy for the oak to feel weak When it faces the storm, the worm, the rot. But that is not what others see They see it stand strong, enduring, Weathering storm after storm, Adversity and affliction. You do not see the weakness, But the strength in the face thereof. The oak tree stands firm, A testament throughout the ages, Viewed as a tree of strength, Broad-boughed, unbent, Providing support and comfort, Planting the seeds of the future. The oak may feel its own pain But all that others see Is its strength.
