PUMP SYSTEMS INTENDED AUDIENCE Anyone who is looking to enhance their knowledge and gain a fuller understanding of the factors that need to be considered when looking at the design of a whole pump system. We recommend students take or have taken the pumping fundamentals course for a basic understanding before attending this course.

COURSE DESCRIPTION The course examines the factors that need to be considered in the design of pump systems. Using presentations and exercises the course takes a practical approach to what is a complex subject.

 Appreciate the special considerations of unsteady flow conditions relating to positive displacement pumps

This course has been designed to enable individuals working with Pumping Systems to boost their knowledge regarding the interaction between all components within a successfully designed system.

 determine performance in multiple pump operations

AFTER THE COURSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

 Describe a “System Curve” and how it is derived

 The difference and relationship between NPSH, (NPSH)R and (NPSH)A  Identify the problems that are associated with a poor design.

 Understand the terms and what is meant by System, Static, Velocity and Friction head
