“The Tabernacle of David”
David is bringing back the Ark of God after the Philistines took it captive 20 years ago. He decides not to bring it back to Moses’ Tabernacle where it was taken from, instead David builds a tent (David’s Tabernacle) to place the Ark of God in it. David makes a decision not to place the Ark of God in a place where “God once was,” but to place the Ark of God in a place “where God is.” All religions and denominations started “with a move of God,” the problem is that they stayed there and never developing, turning into a tradition. Isa.43:1819 “Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old. I will do a new thing; I will make a way.” Mark 7:8 “The traditions of men make the Word of God of no effect.” Moses’ Tabernacle was very complicated; • Where God once was • God’s specific instruction on how Moses’ Tabernacle should look like • It taught the cost of redemption (sacrifices) • Could only come before God once a year for forgiveness The Day of atonement • The process of how to access the Throne Room of God David’s Tabernacle was very simple; • It is where God is at that particular time • It was a tent • The effect of redemption • An ongoing relationship with God • Immediate access to the Throne room of Godanytime Amos 9:11 (O.T.) “and in that day, I will rebuild the Tabernacle of David.” Acts 15:16 (N.T.) “I will rebuild the Tabernacle of David.” The Tabernacle of David is about breaking the rules, coming against tradition. 12
Mark 2:27-28 “Jesus said to them the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Therefore, the Son of Man is Lord over the Sabbath.” When you stand by legalism over God, you just made legalism your god! What you are seeing today in “biker churches, cowboy churches, gospel rock music with light shows & fog machines,” is really a fulfillment of prophecy in Amos 9:11 & Acts 15:16 “I will rebuild the Tabernacle of David.” If Abraham stuck by what God first told him to do, he would have killed his son Isaac as a sacrifice regardless of what the Angel told him in Gen.22:10-13. Tradition will always obey what God first said. Revelation is always open to what God is saying now. Religion & tradition is spiritually killing our children on the legalistic altars of Religion.
