I know if I had to add putting up decorations to other last-minute preparations, it would tip me over. If you haven’t ventured out, there are already great goodies,
stocking fillers and treats in store... but if you’re still stuck for gift ideas, just have a look at our amazing gift guide on page 6. Also keep in mind, that once in a while we all need to step back from the frenzy and remember that this season is supposed to be festive; Christmas should be fun. Easy Christmas Gifts! DIY Glitter Mugs
LOOK FOR THE FOLLOWING CHRISTMAS WORDS: Sleigh Tree December Snowman Rudolf Star Snow Gingerbread
Christmas Cracker Bauble Carol Holly Bell Nativity Gifts
Lately I’ve been wanting to make easy and inexpensive Christmas gifts! I found these mugs at the R5-store and knew exactly what I was going to do with them! So I bought mugs and gold glitter!! (cause glitter is always a good idea right?!) 3. Your Mug should look something like this! 4. Make sure you put a piece of paper on the bottom to reuse the loose glitter that has fallen. 5. Before the glue dries, carefully peel off the tape or else the modge podge will seal it. 6. Make sure to let them dry overnight and for the following week keep repeating these steps to seal the glitter! These are super glam and makes great Christmas gifts!
FOR THE GLITTER MUGS YOU WILL NEED: • White Mugs • Glitter • Sponge brush • Modge podge in gloss finish • Painters Tape
Christmas word search
WHAT YOU DO: 1. First tape off the bottom half of the mug with your painter’s tape. (Don’t Forget the handle!) 2. Next apply modge podge to the taped off section of the mug and generously coat the mug with glitter.

ROAST LEG OF LAMB WITH ANCHOVY Deliciously comforting, and the
leftovers make great sandwich fillers. PREP TIME: MORE THAN 2 HOURS SERVES: 6 INGREDIENTS • 2 kilograms leg of lamb • 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced • 3 sprigs rosemary, snipped into 2cm lengths • 1 pinch rosemary and olive seasoning, or season to taste • 1 can anchovy fillets in oil • (50g) 23 ml brown gravy powder • 2 tbsp olive oil • 1 dash sherry, or squeeze lemon juice (optional) DIRECTIONS 1. Stuff lamb with garlic and rosemary by making holes in meat with the point of a chef’s knife and inserting a sliver of garlic and a tiny piece of fresh rosemary into each hole. Season with rosemary and olive seasoning. 2. Mash anchovies in their own oil with a little extra olive oil to form a paste. Rub all over meat. Refrigerate for a couple of hours or overnight. Bring meat to room

temperature before roasting. Preheat oven to 200 °C. Place lamb on a rack over a roasting pan. Add 2 cups (500ml) water to pan.Roast meat uncovered for 30 minutes. Reduce heat to 180 °C and roast fo ranother 1-1½hours (uncovered) or until cooked to your liking (on a meat thermometer, medium done reads 71 °C). Remove lamb from oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes covered with foil before carving. Add 2 cups (500ml) water to pan juices and thicken with Ina Paarman’s brown gravy powder, mixed with a little water. Season to taste. Add sherry or lemon juice for extra flavour. STEP-BY-STEP CARVING Wrap a clean cloth around exposed shank bone. Position leg on its side and, using a very sharp chef’s or carving knife, carve into neat, thin slices. Finally cut along long bones to loosen slices and arrange on a warmed meat platter. Turn leg over and carve other side the same way, until you end up with completely clean bones.
TIP Ensure the butcher doesn’t cut the shank (leg) bone because when carving it serves as a ‘handle’. However, ask them to fillet out the pelvic bone, which can get in the way when carving.
