My name is Colin Gonzalez, your 2014-2015 Texas Oklahoma District Treasurer, and I am ridiculously excited for this Key Club Year! To start, I want all of y’all to feel like I am accessible to you and I am willing to help y’all with anything you need at any time! I am currently a junior at Mansfield High School, Division 39S, Region 7. I have dedicated my time and effort to Key Club since my freshman year, although I initially joined to learn what Key Club was all about, help others, and hang out with my friends. So naturally when I started I had no idea that Key Club International was a thing, but all that changed after attending my first DCON. This sparked my interest in Key Club and I have only grown my love for this organization since. Outside of Key Club I am also involved with National Honor Society and Student Council where I hold the position of Student Body Representative. Despite this other activity involvement, Key Club will ALWAYS take priority over any other organization. Contact: Treasurer@tokeyclub.com

I’m Emily Zhao, the 2014-2015 T-O District Editor. I preserve a healthy obsession over the color purple, and I have a refined taste for tomatoes. In addition, I utterly love Key Club! During my term as District Editor, I aim to give feedback to each and every club newsletter. I also hope to further increase the Tex-O-Key audience so that all Key Clubbers across Texas-Oklahoma will utilize it as a helpful resource. In addition, I want to help club editors create beautiful masterpieces of newsletters. Feel free to invite me to any fundraisers, service projects, and meetings. I’ll try my best to attend these to see all of your magnificent faces! Please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions or request feedback on articles and newsletters. I’m always happy to give tips and suggestions to further enhance your publications. Contact: Editor@tokeyclub.com 6 Division 2C2S

Shalom T-O Key Club! My name is Ashlyn Salvato. I am so stoked to be given a chance to make your 2015 DCON as fabulous as possible. Key Club truly means the world to me, and as Liaison I aspire to get everyone excited on service through the convention. However, no convention is complete without member satisfaction, so I urge you all to call, text or email me with any comments questions or complaints. I hope to see all of your beautiful smiling faces at next years DCON! Contact: cl@tokeyclub.com

Labor Day Kiwa

10 Division 2C2S

anis Pancake It was a super hot day, and North Garland High School Key Club and Garland High School Key Club went out to a church in Downtown Garland to help the Kiwanis Club of Garland. Multiple students went out and walked in the band alongside many high school bands and veterans running around giving out flyers and candy while the others worked in the church serving pancakes and sausage to local customers Thank you to everyone that came out to the Labor Day Kiwanis Pancake event, The Kiwanis Club of Garland wanted me to inform everyone that came that they couldn’t have done it without you. You guys sure did a superb job and it was a pleasure working with you all at the event! The parade was a success and the Kiwanis raised over $1000. That’s incredible isn’t it? I’m so proud of you all and remember to continue the key connection with your Kiwanis! Visit The Kiwanis Club of Garland at their meetings at the Copper Kettle on Thursdays! Division 2C2S 11

Why join Key Club? Key Club is not only the largest, but it is also the oldest volunteer service organization in the world. Key Club is open to people of all gpAs, you don’t need to make a specific grade to join this club! Just join and learn about servant leadership, volunteer, and make new friends from all over the world! Key Club is completely student based, even on the international level, and not many clubs hold that aspect! I absolutely fell in love with Key Club and accumulated multiple friends throughout this journey, so come along on the adventure and JOIN!

How do I join Key Club? Attend you’re the first key club meeting at your school or speak to an officer. They should give you an application, then you pay your dues of $13 for international and the district. (Unless your school club has their own dues, then you would need to pay more.) Once everything is settled, you should be able to attend events and volunteer! If you need contact information for your club officers, contact me at ltg2c@tokeyclub.com and I’d be more than happy to help you out! 12 Division 2C2S
