Klean Kanteen

Klean Kanteen is the ultimate feelgood product. Every time a Klean Kanteen is used, it means that there is one less plastic water bottle making its way to our landfills or oceans.

What’s more, Klean Kanteen have put a real effort into giving their products a longer lifespan, with their recently developed surface coating Klean Coat®, which lasts four times longer and is produced using environmentally sound ingredients.

Klean Kanteen are also members of 1% for the Planet, where they give 1% of their gross annual sales to non-profit organisations working to preserve and restore the natural environment.

Luci Lanterns

Luci Lanterns is another brand that really focuses on giving back. The business model behind Luci Lanterns is truly inspirational – every purchase of a Luci product in the developed world it makes it more affordable for people in the developing world. Given around 1.5 billion people worldwide live without reliable electricity, a safe and reliable light source like Luci can literally be life changing.

Other feel good stories...

Some of our other brands might not scream gifts, but also should make you feel good about selling as they take their societal and environmental obligations seriously.

FOR EXAMPLE:

Coghlan's – For over 45 years, Coghlan’s has partnered with five organisations who provide support services to people with a wide range of intellectual disabilities. The organisations help with the assembly, quality control and packaging of Coghlan’s products, creating jobs for people and helping teach valuable life skills.

Gumbies

Gumbies is another brand that has environmental positives built in – literally! The soles of all Gumbies jandals are made from recycled rubber, and the added bonus is the rugged, non-slip tread provides much better grip on slippery terrain than most jandals.

ENO hammocks

Our new brand ENO (check out their hammocks on page 10) is another company that believes in giving back wherever possible. Like Klean Kanteen, ENO is also a member of 1% for the Planet, and they also partner with Trees for the Future, planting two trees for every hammock sold.

Tatonka – unlike most other pack brands, Tatonka have their own factory in Vietnam where all products are made. Their factory has an Open Factory policy, which means anyone can go and tour the factory and see for themselves the standard of conditions for workers.

Nikwax – okay, so most people might be peeved if they get a waterproofing product for Christmas (but hey, those about to go camping might appreciate the Tent and Gear Solarwash or Tent and Gear Solarproof), but Nikwax’s environmental record is exemplary and is worth shouting from the rooftops.

Nikwax remains the only major aftercare brand to have never used aerosols or fluorocarbons in their products. Not content to be simply a carbon neutral company, Nikwax has carbon balanced out all of its 40 year operational emissions by regenerating tropical rain forests.

They are also not a company who rests on their laurels, they are aiming for all Nikwax product bottles to be made from 100% recycled plastic by 2020, whilst still remaining completely recyclable.
