THE FARM AT HOKUALA THE HEART OF HOKUALA At Timbers Kaua‘i, our surfing lessons are taught by an outfit operating since the 1950’s, our adventure guides are lifelong islanders - even the names of our buildings were chosen by a native Hawaiian during a moonlit meditation - everything we offer our Owners is authentically Kaua‘i, and that certainly does not stop when it comes to food. The Farm at Hōkūala makes good on the “farm-to-table” promise, and in true Timbers Style, it’s as close as close can be. Farmer Cody oversees our farm on property (meaning if the kids want to come out and roll in the dirt while learning about island agriculture, they’re more than welcome). Producing fruits and vegetables native to Kaua‘i, including the 12 traditional canoe crops, the Farm aims to support ingredients that come to our restaurant, bar and spa. Beyond the benefits of conservation, fresh ingredients, and agri-education, the Farm at Hōkūala serves as the cornerstone of our Ahupua‘a (village), making the sense of home even stronger, and your family’s place in it, complete.

FOUR KEY POINTS OF SUSTAINABILITY AT THE FARM AT HOKUALA • Land stewardship - conservation of native flora and fauna, reintroduction of endangered plant species, soil and water conservation, offset carbon footprint. • Healthy and strong communities - reliable access to healthy foods, community core-building activities, exercise opportunities, education to promote future food and economic growth. • Teach children and give surplus food to schools. • Increase land quality and promote agri-education.

THE ‘OHANA VEGETABLE GARDEN AT THE FARM AT HOKUALA Picture this: vibrant rows of greens, reds, yellows and oranges set among the breathtaking backdrop of the Hau‘pu Mountains. Surprising pops of pinks, purples and turquoise around every corner. Imagine an afternoon bike ride or leisurely stroll to your farm to harvest fresh spinach, ginger and herbs for the evening’s main course. Upon encountering artfully designed rows of kale, tomato, swiss chard and mint, Farmer Cody shares his recommendations on the day’s freshest picks. Taro, lettuce, peppers, carrots and rosemary - the opportunities are endless. There is always something delicious in season at the Farm and Cody is more than happy to share it with you. Beyond the benefits of conservation and a plethora of fresh ingredients served up daily at Hualani’s, the Farm at Hōkūala serves as the cornerstone of our Ahupua‘a (village), making the sense of home even stronger, and your family’s place in it. Families are invited to get their hands as dirty as they would like, be it working alongside Cody in the gardens or simply requesting a delivery of fresh veggies to their residence. The ohana vegetable garden, tropical flower garden and twelve traditional canoe crops featured in the Spa and weaved throughout the amenities at Timbers Kaua‘i are just the start.
