OWNER NEWSLETTER

JULY 2024

FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER, SHANNON ECKHAUS

The days are long, the beach is open, and the sun is shining – welcome to summertime fun on Kiawah Island! Thank you, Owners, for kicking off summer in style with unforgettable Memorial Week festivities. We had so much fun with lively events, games, food, and music, and look forward to continuing the summer celebrations through Labor Day.

Each week will be unique, featuring events like live music by Owner-favorite Chris Dodson, bustling Member socials, local pop-up shops, Lowcountry Luaus, Music Bingo, Caribbean Night, and Toddler Time and Splash Time for older children.

Our Owner Services team has thoughtfully created a new local area and property guide, helping Owners easily locate our most requested resources. Explore favorites like The Beach Club menu, popular property amenities, local attractions, environmental do’s and don’ts on Kiawah Island, how to use in-residence amenities, concierge activities and dining picks, and our team roster. This guide can now be found on the dining credenza in your residence.

With the advent of changing seasons in the Lowcountry, I can’t help but reflect on the wonderous and unique beauty of our island. Let us take time this summer to share its wonderful treasures with family and friends, as well as do our part to protect Kiawah Island for the enjoyment of generations to come.

To submit your waitlist request, email reservations@timberskiawah.com, providing specific arrival and departure dates. Owners may hold up to one waitlist request at a time for a stay between one and seven nights, which cannot be split into multiple requests.

If a space opens, our Reservations Manager will contact Owners via email in the order in which requests were placed. Owners have 24 hours to respond to the email and confirm their stay, otherwise, the dates will be offered to the next Owner in line or placed in the the Scout availability calendar if no other Owners are in the queue. To book the dates offered, Owners must have the coordinating stay type available, such as Space Available or Short Notice.

We kindly request that Owners refrain from contacting the Club to request status updates, as frequent inquiries have begun to inhibit our ability to respond to imperative communications quickly. 2024 SOUTH SEAS TARPON TOURNAMENT

IN SUPPORT OF FOLDS OF HONOR

Captiva Island was abuzz this May as the 2024 South Seas Tarpon Tournament brought together anglers, veterans, and families to support Folds of Honor, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to providing educational scholarships to families of fallen and disabled veterans and first responders. This inaugural tournament not only highlighted Captiva’s rich waters but also demonstrated a profound commitment to honoring those who have sacrificed for the country. The event, led by Timbers Company CEO and veteran Greg Spencer, aimed to make a tangible difference in the local community by funding scholarships for Folds of Honor recipients in Lee County, Florida.

Participants enjoyed a memorable weekend filled with camaraderie, heartfelt speeches, and family-friendly activities, raising $200,000 to fund 40 scholarships. The event’s highlight was a moving speech by Ashlyn McCain, a Folds of Honor scholarship recipient, whose story inspired every attendee to support the cause. The success of this event, made possible by generous sponsors and donors, ensures its return in 2025 on Memorial Day weekend, continuing the Timbers Company tradition of supporting and honoring the nation’s heroes.
