The Douglas County Chamber Golf & Tennis Classic is just around the corner! Presented by GreyStone Power, this year promises to bring participants and sponsors the best golf tournament in West Georgia! Space is still available for players with foursomes priced at $500 which includes golf cart, greens fees, breakfast, lunch, dinner, course beverages and giveaway bags. Chamber Classic Gold Sponsors include Kaiser Permanente and WellStar Douglas Hospital with Silver Sponsors being American Red Cross, Canongate Golf Clubs, Daikin McQuay, Puckett EMS, Waste Industries, and West Georgia Technical College. With the theme, “Around the World in 18 Holes,” players are entertained by Sponsors with tastes and treats from different countries. Registration Sponsor Google greets participants while Leaderboard Sponsor Gas South puts everyone’s name in lights on a jumbo leaderboard. Players will not only have fun, but they also have the chance to take home a little cash with contests such as the Putting Contest sponsored by Mercer University and Closest to the Pin Sponsors AT&T and Dependable Services Heating & Air. Hole-in-One Sponsor AutoNation also gives players a chance to go home with a new car! After a day on the course, what better way to wrap up the afternoon than at the 19th Hole After Party sponsored by Georgia Power! Winners of the day will be announced as well as the winner of the Chamber Restaurant Raffle where YOU have a chance to win $1,000 in restaurant gift cards! Tickets are available at the Chamber for $10 each, you do not have to be pres¬ent to win.

Leadership Douglas held their annual Alumni Social sponsored by GreyStone Power at The Centre at Arbor Connection on August 8th. Alumni gathered to reconnect, reminisce, and meet the Class of 2014. Participants in Leadership Douglas benefit from getting to know one another and from the exchange of ideas and experiences. They gain knowledge and understanding on crucial issues facing our community, while also attaining leadership skills to make a difference. The Chamber’s Youth Leadership Douglas Program kicked off their Fall Program in August with a teambuilding retreat at Hunter Park and also held a Young Professionals Day in which they learned skills to prepare them for their future. Youth Leadership Douglas gives high school juniors the opportunity to acquire and broaden their knowledge of not only social & business etiquette but also of local government, business and civic activities through a five month leadership program.
