into the classroom. CWET is a team of individua ls from Coweta Water Authority, Newnan Utilities, the Coweta County School System, UGA Cooperative Extension-Coweta County, Yamaha Motor Manufacturing, the Coweta County Stormwater Department and

In this case, Wortham was nominated by the family of a patient she ca red for at CTCA i n Newnan. The nurse has wo r k e d a t C T C A fo r

two years and learned about the honor during a meeting. “My di rect ma nager st a r ted read i ng h ig hlights of a letter written by a family member of a patient … She then a n nou nced my n a me . I wa s i n tota l shock ,” Wor t h a m s a id . “ I s at w it h my m out h op en for at least 10 seconds. I was t ha n k f ul a nd i n awe t hat t he fa m i ly took ti me to say such nice things about me.” Wortha m said while her da i ly job ca n be roug h , it c a n a l s o b e rewarding. “I love t he fact t hat I can watch a patient’s journey from when they receive a diagnosis, through treatment to when t hey go i nto remission a nd a re living a normal life again,” s h e s a id . “ B ut s om e times the outcomes are not the most desirable. T h at ’s toug h bec au se you’ve developed relationships with the patient and their families and know them on a personal level.
