t is often not the end-all success story of a business that rings in the hearts of its customers, new and returning. Going back to the roots and holding a clear focus of the journey ahead will harbor a passion for a business’s place in a market, community, and heart of its customer base. In 2018 Finley’s Boutique opened its doors to the public; however, their journey did not begin or end there. Now located at 7 Jefferson Street, Newnan, Georgia, Finley’s Boutique has gained ground in the community and is a thriving shop aimed at fitting every customer with the perfect outfit at a price point where quality meets affordability. The majority of their products are being Made in the USA or locally, like artist Everley Dawn’s handcrafted leather goods. Owner Sydney Sherrod travels to markets multiple times throughout the year in order to stay ahead of the changing seasons

Sydney Sherrod, left, began a career as a flight attendant, a role she still holds today. Best friend Anna Grace Rogers shares her love for fashion, and gave Sydney the extra push of courage to begin the journey of Finley’s Boutique in late 2017.

undreds of hungry folks filled the Downtown Court Square on Thursday evening with the opportunity to sample a smorgasbord of many tasty and unique offerings from around Coweta County. People flocked to downtown as the event began at 5 p.m., filling long tables to sample food from local restaurants and vendors. Entertainment and activities for children were part of the fun. Taste of Newnan has been popular for several years. Main Street Newnan, the sponsor, has revamped Taste – changing it to a once a year project and eliminating the purchase and exchange of tokens.

Corvaglia opens new facility closure design as a vertically-integrated manufacturer and supplier of caps and closures for PET (polyethylene terephthalate) containers. Founded in 1991, Corvaglia customizes one-piece closure technologies that address the particular needs of customers and consumers. This end-to-end market approach is embodied in their slogan ‘Think, Shape, Make, Apply.’ Around the world, Corvaglia lightweight technologies are used in bottled waters, carbonated and non-carbonated soft drinks, isotonics, juices, teas, dairy and edible oils. “Our economic development successes are based on strong partnerships, and Corvaglia’s decision to build a facility in Newnan is a result of these efforts,” said Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson. “Our economic development partners played a huge role in landing this project, and I am grateful for their commitment to the state.”

witzerland-based Corvaglia group recently announced cut the ribbon on their first manufacturing facility in the United States, located in Newnan. The new U.S. production facility will complement Corvaglia’s existing operations in Eschlikon, Switzerland and Ixtlahuaca, Mexico. Corvaglia employs approximately 275 individuals worldwide. The plant came to Coweta County with a $25 million development authority loan. The Newnan plant will manufacture plastic tops for beverage bottles. The 84,000 square-foot manufacturing facility, which will be built on 14 acres in the Coweta Industrial Park, off Hwy. 154, will incorporate high-speed digital printing. “This is a major strategic step in Corvaglia’s history that positions us well to serve the U.S. market,” said Corvaglia Closures USA President and General Manager James B. Fisher. “We are honored to have been chosen by Corvaglia Group for the location of their new manufacturing facility,” said Trae Westmoreland, president of the Coweta County Development Authority. Westmoreland is new to the job and thanked Amanda Fields, the authority's

director of existing industries/workforce development, for her part in bringing Corvaglia to Coweta. “Corvaglia Group is a great company that values the communities in which they operate, and we look forward to watching them succeed in our community,” Fields said. “We are extremely proud that Corvaglia Group has selected Coweta County for its first U.S. manufacturing facility,” said Coweta County Chairman Al Smith. “Coweta County is always looking for innovators in their field, and Corvaglia certainly fits what we are seeking to make our county a better place.” At least 40 full-time jobs are expected to come as the plant begins operations. “We look forward to working with Corvaglia Group in providing quality jobs for the people of Coweta County,” Smith said. The international company manufactures 100 percent recyclable plastic caps and closures for the food and beverage industry worldwide. The new U.S. facility will complement Corvaglia’s existing operations in Eschlikon, Switzerland and Ixtlahuaca, Mexico. Corvaglia’s business is dedicated to

and to get her hands on each product that may one day find its way into the boutique. It is this dedication and passion that Sydney pours into the shop. Be it in the design, the clothing, or the team that helps the store thrive, her heart and soul are always on display. Sydney’s love for fashion began in college, where she obtained a degree in advertising from the University of Georgia. She credits her education and passion for the success of Finley’s Boutique because they have allowed her to reach her customers and effectively meet their fashion needs. After graduation Sydney began a career as a flight attendant, a role she still holds today. During this time she met best friend Hannah McNeil in the city of Newnan. The team immediately shared a love for fashion, and it is Hannah that gave Sydney the extra push of courage to begin the journey of Finley's Boutique in late 2017. At that time Finley’s Boutique was exclusively online and operated out of Sydney’s guest bedroom. The move to the shop in downtown Newnan has awarded Finley’s Boutique with personal customer relationships, as well as a place of their own in the community. Being a flight attendant further allowed Sydney the opportunity to see numerous cities and possible locations for her to open Finley’s Boutique; however, it was Newnan, Georgia, that she kept returning to. Newnan is where she has spent most of her life and where her family dates back for generations. “I am beyond grateful to be a part of this amazing community that I’m fortunate enough to call home,” Sydney says about the city. She loves seeing her customers leave happy with their new outfits, knowing that she has made an impact on the community. Finley’s Boutique is open Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Friday-Saturday, 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., and Sunday, 1 until 5 p.m. Customers may also shop online at www. ShopFinleys.com and follow on Instagram @ShopFinleys. Make sure to mention this article at checkout for 10 percent off your entire purchase.

ringing an abundance of joy to families' homes across Newnan and Coweta County is something that Rachel Kuehl is proud to have accomplished. In 2017 she started Newnan Mercantile in downtown Newnan. Within just two years, Newnan Mercantile has

outgrown its former space at 15 North Court Square. On March 23rd the shop opened its new location at 11 Greenville Street. Owner Rachel Kuehl tells us, “This store has been an amazing opportunity to serve this community and provide for my family at the same time. It’s a place

where I get to bring my kids to work with me and watch them grow up. I’ve met so many amazing people – locals, travelers, and cancer patients.” “I’m so blessed that God gave me an opportunity to be a part of this community. We have continued to grow faster than expected, so when the opportunity

to move into a larger space that would showcase our product so much better to our customers, we jumped,” she said. “We have listened to our customers about what they want and what we can provide, and this new store has helped

us transition to provide that.” With the move, Newnan Mercantile has started to carry more furniture pieces along with larger decor items. “The more we get settled in, the more we will find and bring into the store,” Kuehl said. “The new store is spacious and just downright pretty.” Joy is certainly what Newnan Mercantile brings to those who shop in the store. Kuehl enjoys building lasting relationships and friendships. “I look forward to seeing what sparks each person. It’s exciting to see different styles, tastes, and ideas,” she said. Since its opening day, Newnan Mercantile has been able to host numerous fundraisers, gather items for disaster relief efforts, donate to the Children's ConnectMuseum as well as to many silent auctions benefiting various organizations in Coweta County. “In the next year we hope to partner with Foundation Christian Church on a shoe project for children,” Kuehl said. ”We have a lot of goals, and without the support of our online and local community achieving them wouldn’t be possible. We love Newnan!” Kuehl and her entire team at Newnan Mercantile are excited to meet you. Visit their new shop at 11 Greenville Street in downtown Newnan.

Jesus Christ is not some powerless, dead historical figure. He is alive. He is present. If you are thirsty, He is the Living Water. If you are hungry, He is the Bread of Life. He protects. He intercedes. He fills us up. He satisfies our souls. He is awesome in strength and mighty in power. He is the Lamb of God. He is the Lion of Judah. He is the Indescribable Gift. He is our Great High Priest. He is our Mediator. He is our Hope. He is our Peace. He is our Burden Bearer. He is our Good Shepherd. He is our Refuge. He is our Strength. He is our Rock. He is our Sword. He is our Shield. He is our Way Maker. He is our Miracle Worker. He is our Wonderful Counselor. He is our Everlasting Father. He is Lord of lords. He is King of kings. There is no one beside Him, no one above Him. There is none like Him. He is an ever-present help in time of trouble. He is great and greatly to be praised! If we refuse to praise Him, the rocks will pipe up in our place (Luke 19:40). Stir up the embers within, and blaze forth His glory!
