destination for fresh, delicious, and authentic Mediterranean dishes, PITA Mediterranean Street Food planted its first roots in Peachtree City before quickly expanding. Their second restaurant in Newnan’s Ashley Park was quickly followed by another location in the Thomas Crossroads Shopping Center in Sharpsburg. Michael Carino, co-founder CMO of PITA Street Food, said being part of this community, and improving their services from loyal customers’ feed-

rom its roots on Clairmont Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama, the 1985-born establishment Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q now confirms its plans for expanding to Fischer Crossing in Sharpsburg, Georgia. The Sharpsburg restaurant’s owner Jeremy Chambers says that groundbreaking will begin in September, followed by a planned opening mid-February 2020. Jeremy has more than twenty years of experience in the restaurant industry and has been a proud local owner since 2009. He tells us, “I was born and raised in east Tennessee, but I have found Fayette County, Georgia, to be my family’s new home and where we are choosing to raise our children.” Through Jim ‘N Nick’s, Jeremy employs his passion of giving back to the community and he attributes that success to patrons of his restaurants. For instance, he tells us, “While other national brands commit a percentage of

The service culture of Jim ‘N Nick’s has afforded me the opportunity to help those who need it most.” Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q currently has eight locations in Atlanta. With the

Faith is developed by meditating on God’s Word. Fear is developed by meditating on Satan’s lies. Such fearful meditation is called “worrying.” Don’t do it! The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit. Use it to fight Satan every time he comes against you. Hold up your shield of faith and quench all of his fiery darts. Speak words of faith and fear will depart. – Read Psalm 27 America Must Stand With Israel! God is Good All The Time The W. Reece Payton Co., Inc.

The restaurant is very active in the Thomas Crossroads community especially, according to Carino. “We get active with the community as much as possible and hold spirit nights for the local schools and organizations, such as Thomas Crossroads elementary and Trinity Christian,” Carino said. “We are hoping to build our involvement by offering every school and organization in the area a comfortable and friendly environment for the community to come together and raise funds to their specific needs.” In addition to being centrally focused on community, PITA is also proud to have several team members from the Sharpsburg area. “PITA has impacted me as a high school student by showing me how to manage my time wisely with such a busy schedule, “ said Lexi Widdon. “It has taught me how to deal with social issues professionally.” Her teammate, Sophie Bishop chimed in about the community outreach. “We see PITA in the future catering to more non-profit organizations as well as leading by example to other businesses to
participate in community events and volunteer opportunities,” Bishop said. Widdon and Bishop said they’re both learning to strive for excellence in everything they do along with holding themselves accountable for responsibilities. The team at PITA also likes to have fun at work. “Our favorite thing to do at work is to make it more entertaining by holding pita beauty pageants, competing for who can make the prettiest pita, as well as having inside jokes about pita,” BIshop said. “We love to keep the spirits high at work and try to make it as fun as possible!” Across every restaurant, PITA offers the same specials. Every Monday customers can purchase the Gyro or Chicken Gyro for $5.55. Every Tuesday the Falafel or Veggie Pita is $5.55, and on Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., kids eat free. “Our traditional Gyro pita is our staple that has put us on the map,” Carino said. “I love the new rice bowls we have to offer, perfect for someone on the go or who uses our delivery service and wants to skip out on a huge fulfilling PITA meal.” For those that might have a dietary restriction, the hummus and is a perfect option. The City Menus recently visited the Sharpsburg location. One of our team members commented,
PHOTO BY JONATHAN DOCKERY “The hummus was absolutely fantastic and flavorful. It tasted just like my best friend’s recipe.” During a tour of the headquarters off Interstate-85, just a few exits north of Newnan, The City Menus learned that over 1,000 pounds of hummus is created each day inside the central kitchen and then distributed to every store. “We share our passion in our variety of unique flavors to create some of the most delicious cuisines,” Carino said. “We believe in offering exceptional food, quick service, affordability, and a comfortable, family-friendly environment for everyone to enjoy.” Since its opening, PITA has grown in popularity throughout the Atlanta metro area making it the largest Mediterranean restaurant brand in the state of Georgia. PITA continues to grow as the demand for their concept is directed by their most loyal customers’ support and feedback in every city served. There are now 24 locations currently open with over 75 franchise commitments around the nation. Jonathan Dockery is the creator of The City Menus LLC.
