The billboard was erected in an ongoing effort to generate leads in Roberts’ murder, which occurred on Aug. 10, 2012. In late summer, Roberts and her grandmother had arrived at their Bohannon Road home outside Fairburn just in time to find burglars invading their home. At the bottom of the driveway, one of the robbers leaned out of the car’s back window and fired a single shot. The bullet struck Roberts in the head, leaving the

woman to die on the scene. “They were leaving when they shot her … they were getting away clean,” said Roberts’ grandmother, Betty Brown. Roberts, 44, who had cerebral palsy, lived with Brown at her home where the woman had cared for Roberts for the majority of her life. “She was my life,” Brown said of her granddaughter. “She meant everything to me.” “We’re going to solve this, you know.
