Newnan Utilities to host Taste of Home Cooking School Proceeds to benefit Communities in Schools of Coweta County (CIS)

Newnan Utilities will host its popular Taste of Home Cooking School at the Centre for Performing and Visual Arts on Nov. 12. Taste of Home is America’s #1 cooking school program that provides entertaining and relatable cooking instruction for audiences nationwide. Taste of Home’s culinary specialist, Michelle “Red” Roberts, will be at the event to share home cooking tips and tricks while demonstrating stepby-step recipes for the season’s best dishes. Cooks Who Care will be a part of this year’s cooking show. Cooks Who Care unites compassionate, real people across the country who give back through food and donations. Attendees who bring canned goods or school supplies will be entered to win a special door prize. Proceeds from the event will benefit Com-
munities in Schools of Coweta County (CIS). The mission of CIS is to provide services and support to students struggling to remain in school and graduate. Site coordinators help identify students in need of assistance and connect those students and family members to community resources that can help remove obstacles to student success. Tickets for the cooking show are $10. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at NewnanUtilities. org or at the following locations: Newnan Utilities (Sewell Rd and Bypass location), The Centre for Performing and Visual Arts, Bank of North Georgia (Thomas Crossroads only), The Newnan Times-Herald, and Ace Growlers in downtown Newnan. The Coweta County Community Foundation (CCCF) will be hosting a purse-themed fundraiser on Oct. 22 at the Newnan Centre located at 1515 Lower Fayetteville Road in Newnan. The event, “The Power of the Purse,” is a themed luncheon being held to raise money for the CCCF Woman & Children’s Fund. All proceeds from the event will be contributed to the program and will be applied through the CCCF annual grants process. In addition, grants will be offered to providers
