But Miller doesn’t practice karate to fight others; she uses the sport for the discipline, the competition and for her overall self-improvement. Miller has studied Wado-Ryu karate at the Newnan Karate Center for only nine months, but she has worked hard enough in the Japanese martial art to win several medals for fighting. The hard work has

paid off for Miller as she is a member of the Wado International Karate Federation USA Team and will take her talents to the USA Karate National Championships in Pittsburgh July 12-17, competing in her age group. To say Miller is happy about making the trip to Pittsburgh is an understatement.
“I’m very excited to go to the Karate National Championships. It will be one of the biggest events I will fight in,” said Miller, who now has an orange belt. “There will be enough room at this event for my mom to get a good seat.”
