Farmer’s Market in Newnan Aug 3 | 9am - 1 pm | $0 The Coweta County Farmer’s Market offers locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey, and fresh cut flowers. On Wednesdays, the Farmer’s Market is located around the Courthouse Square in Downtown Newnan from 9 am to 1 pm. It is facilitated by the UGA Coweta County Extension office, in partnership with Main Street Newnan and Coweta County. The market is recognized by Georgia Grown, and holds a membership through this program. Produce sold at the downtown market is strictly agricultural and excludes craft.

Sunset at Sweetland Aug 5 | 6:30 p.m. | $0 Patrons and family are invited to this free event at Sweetland Amphitheater, located at 110 Smith St. in LaGrange. The event includes music by The Alcotts beginning at 7 p.m. and Star Wars: The Force Awakens to be shown at dusk. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic or carryout from a downtown eatery along with blankets to enjoy the evening of music and a movie. Adirondack chairs are available on a first come, first served basis.

​Area Knights recognized for work in Jamaica

Area Knights of Columbus have received recognition for their work with the Missionaries of the Poor in Jamaica. The service award was presented at the annual Knights of Columbus Georgia State Convention in Savannah. State Deputy Mark McMullen, leader of the Georgia Knights of Columbus, recognized local Knights councils for their work. Annually, service awards are presented to Councils for superior work in six catego-
