Pre-registration for Lewis Grizzard & Catfish Memorial Bike Ride Aug 29 - Sept. 2 | online | $28 Pre-register to participate in the first Lewis Grizzard & Catfish Memorial Bike Ride to be held on Oct. 2 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Lewis Grizzard Museum, located at 2769 Hwy 29 S in Moreland. The event supports early literacy by sending books to children from birth to age five. Pre-register for $28 per rider. Pre-registrants will be guaranteed a commemorative bike ride t-shirt. Performances at the Donald W. Nixon Centre for Performing and Visual Arts often bring the local theatre to full capacity, but few are aware of the work that goes on behind the scenes.

forming arts space has offered the county a number of productions ranging from community theatre to fine art exhibits featuring local artists and artisans. The Centre maintains an objective of providing not only entertainment to county residents, but also education. “T he Centre a llows students, patrons and citizens of the county to continue learning,” Nixon said in an interview recorded shortly after her April appointment. The director noted that in addition to seasonal performances, internships, master classes and gallery exhibits, she plans to continue actively looking for ways to push the Centre’s greatness to the next level.
We each have a creative talent, according to Cathe Nixon. It is simply that, in many cases, that talent has not yet been discovered. Ni xon was appointed as director of the Donald W. Nixon Centre for Performing and Visual Arts in early April. She has taken on the role with hopes of carrying on the legacy of her late husband, Donald Nixon, who passed away in February.
