Fall Art Walk Sept. 30 | 5 p.m. | $0 The Art Walk is a local celebration of artistic talent from crafters, artists and artisans in the county. Downtown businesses will extend business hours to host storefront and indoor exhibits and art demonstrations. Over 30 locations will be available to the public, displaying the work of over 40 local artists. This event is free and open to the public. Art and craft items will be available for purchase and several businesses will offer refreshments to visitors.

Fall Screen on the Green Sept. 30 | 7:30 p.m. | $0 The Screen on the Green Event will takes place at the First Avenue Park in downtown Newnan, where a family-friendly, animated film will be featured. The event is free and open to the public and all ages. Families are encouraged to bring blankets. Downtown eateries will offer boxed dinners during the event for those that prefer to have dinner on the square. Call ahead to one of our downtown restaurants and have dinner ready upon arrival.

1776, The Musical Sept. 30 | 7:30 p.m. | $30 - $35 American history blazes to vivid life in this most unconventional of Broadway hits. It’s the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence... if only our founding fathers can agree to do it. 1776 is a funny and compelling musical that follows John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson as they attempt to convince the members of the Second Continental Congress to sign the Declaration of Independence. The performance begins at 8 p.m. at The Legacy Theatre, located at 1175 Senoia Road, Ste C in Tyrone. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 404-895-1473.

Well known locally for his long-time career as a cartoonist and illustrator, R. David Boyd Sr. offers a collection of
original works on display in Newnan. Boyd is widely noted for his political cartoons and as illustrator of Jeff Foxworthy’s “You Might Be a Redneck…” series, among others. The art-
ist, recently retired, began his career more than 40 years ago with the political, passiondriven and often comical illustrations created for print in The Newnan Times-Herald. For the first time, a collec-
tion of original illustrations by the long-time artist has been compiled and will be on display for public viewing. The
Sept. 30 | 7:30 p.m. | $30 - $35 United we Stand for Positive Results, in addition to other local organizations, sponsors an annual Youth Appreciating Senior Citizens picnic and family reunionat the start of the fall season. The cookout and day of fun is hosted by the Newnan Housing Authority on Boone Drive at the local playground. The event will begin at 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public. smoke meat and barbecue will be served at the event and all leftovers are then returned to the community following the event.
