Fun on the Pier American Express Gold Card and Resy present: The Boardwalk
By Kamala Kirk ocals and visitors alike enjoyed a one-of-a-kind interactive experience on Saturday, July 9 at the Santa Monica Pier that highlighted some of Los Angeles’ award-winning chefs and hottest restaurants. The Boardwalk at Resy was presented by American Express Gold Card and Resy, and featured reimagined boardwalk food and games on the waterfront. for passionate diners. Food items prepared by participating LA restaurants for the event included lobster rolls from Angler, funnel cake with powdered sugar from Ggiata, Dos TaHOTquitos from Hotville Chicken, a sesame chocolate fudge tart from Konbi, and clam pizza with lemon from Pizzana, among others. Official beer partner Stella Artois also served ice cold cans from a Stella Airstream. Special treats were offered by Gold Card Dining Credit partners such as a cotton candy stand from Grubhub, prizes from The Cheesecake Factory, an
immersive Goldbelly photobooth, a selection of wine and boozy wine popsicles at the Wine.com Lounge, a Milk Bar dunk tank, and the Shake Shack Bean Bag Burger Knockdown, where guests had three tries to knock down a wall of vintage soda pop bottles with a burger-shaped bean bag. In between bites, attendees also experienced classic boardwalk entertainment including live music and DJs, stilt walkers and watching professional skateboarders on a half-pipe skate ramp. Gold Card members received a one-ride pass for any ride within the
Pier’s amusement park, Pacific Park. “Bringing our card members closer to what they love most—food—through LA’s vibrant food culture and community was the ultimate way to celebrate our new Dining Credit partners on the Gold Card,” said Shibli Juneja, vice president, U.S. Consumer Premium Products at American Express. “We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with renowned local chefs, Resy, and our amazing partners to create this one-of-a-kind dining experience for guests.”
