Event administration deals with allocating, directing, and controlling resources used in an event project. Since finite, resources must be acquired, developed, and utilised most efficiently and effectively to benefit the event project and limit its risk.

This three-day course explores the fundamental elements of event administration and provides insight into core administrative activities, including:

• Managing the bid process and engagement with the SANCB Bid Support Programme.

• The development and use of budgets, proper costing and pricing strategies, standard accounting practices, and asset and cash flow management to achieve the financial goals of the event enterprise.

• Formulation of the appropriate organisational structure, policies, and procedures for the recruitment, orientation, training, compensation, motivation, supervision, and discipline of employees, contracted workers, and volunteers according to applicable employment and labour practices.

• Acquisition, distribution, control, and retention of information through implementing regular reporting and record-keeping procedures to capture and
