Program categories are updated to make it easier to find the program you want! Early Childhood and Youth combines preschool and youth programs into one section. Camps contains all day camps, athletic camps and specialty camps. Creative Arts is a new category. In it you will find: • All adult and youth art classess at all locations • All adult and youth dance classes • All performing arts auditions and classes • Guitar and Piano lessons Aquatics features all swim lessons and youth water classes. Martial Arts is a new category that includes Taekwondo, Judo and Karate classes for all ages. Adults & Teens are combined to accomodate programs that cross age divisions. Vogt Visual Arts Center provides information on art shows, gazebo jazz, artist receptions and monthly gallery shows. Performing Arts includes all improv shows and theater production performance schedules. Special Thanks To: School Districts 140, 146, 228 and 230 for the use of their facilities in helping us provide recreational programs for the community. We also thank the local newspapers and businesses for their assistance in publicizing Tinley Park-Park District programs. Thank You Volunteers: You make our community a better place to live, work and play. Volunteers coach youth athletes, provide tutoring, help in the office and serve food or drink. Landmark Wedding Chapel & Banquet Hall The Old Zion Lutheran church was built in 1884 and retains its old world charm and beautiful stained glass windows. The nondenominational chapel is air conditioned and can comfortably accommodate 150 guests. SSSRA / Inclusion Statement INCLUSION STATEMENT

Tinley Park-Park District (TP-PD) welcomes participation in all programs and activities by individuals with disabilities and special needs. TP-PD is committed to inclusion and providing public recreation services in the most integrated setting in which interaction between people with and without disabilities is provided to the maximum extent feasible. TP-PD works cooperatively with South Suburban Special Recreation Association (SSSRA) to facilitate successful participation for participants who register for inclusive programming. Mission Statement

To promote the power of choice and to enhance the quality of life of individuals of all abilities, by providing accessible recreation in an environment that promotes dignity, success, and fun. South Suburban Special Recreation Association (SSSRA) is a therapeutic recreation program that is an extension of the Tinley Park-Park District. SSSRA is organized to provide individuals with special needs or disabilities the opportunity to be involved in year round recreation programs. Scholarships are available to SSSRA residents with disabilities who would like to participate in one or more programs, but cannot afford the fees charged.

SSSRA is currently hiring Recreation Leaders to assist in a variety of programs and special events. These include general weekly programs, seasonal special events, Special Olympics and Inclusion. Time for Art - New!

Love to color? Come out each week and work on an art project. We will use different types of art supplies to create our work including paint, crayons, food, and more! Participants will create an age appropriate project to bring home. Examples of projects will be displayed during the Spring Drama Show in May. All individuals must complete the SSSRA registration form and return it to the SSSRA office.

he Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center offers Park District residents a great opportunity to run or walk indoors, play basketball or volleyball, or just relax and watch TV. Childcare is available for participants in a Rec Center program, or for those who need supervision for their child while they walk the track or are in their class. The Rec Center is the perfect place to get some exercise, have fun with friends, reduce stress or just take time out for you! The Rec Center offers free WiFi while in the building!

inley Junction’s miniature golf course features an 18-hole design with a unique garden railroad running throughout the course. Challenging obstacles make the game exciting and fun for everyone! Five professional batting cages are available in slow-, medium-, and fast-pitch hard ball, and slow- and fast-pitch softball. A concession stand also serves food and drinks to add the perfect touch to a great mini-golf outing.

he Vogt Visual Arts Center (VVAC) was once home to the first Tinley Park Mayor, Henry Vogt. In 1996 it reopened as the VVAC, which houses all of the Park District’s fine arts classes and art gallery. The art gallery features a new exhibit each month with works from various local and well-known artists.

he Tinley Park Performing Arts Center is the home of our very own Tinley Park Community Theater, Kidz, Musical, Children’s and Teen’s Theater, and many other performing arts programs. C

anine Campus is a 10-acre off-leash dog park. The park features fenced-in areas for small dogs (under 26 lbs) and large dogs to allow for seperate play. Canine Campus is an affordable way to allow your dog to socialize and have the opportunity to run free safe from street hazards. Membership is required to use Canine Campus. Information on fees, rules, and regulations can be found at tinleyparkdistrict.org or at the the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center.

Registration Information 1. Residency: Resident/in-district program rates apply to anyone who lives within Park District boundaries. Non-resident/out-ofdistrict individuals are charged an additional fee for all memberships, programs and special events. 2. Registration will not be accepted at classes. Only registered participants will be allowed in the class — no substitutions. Spectators/parents are asked to sit in our waiting area. 3. Individuals may register themselves and/ or individuals listed in their household account. 4. Waiting lists will be formed when classes are filled. Every attempt will be made to accommodate these individuals, if possible. 5. No discounts will be given on classes, special events or trips unless otherwise specified in this brochure. 6. Copies of children's birth certificates are required for all first-time registrations for Tot Time Preschool, all children's programs and youth athletics. 7. Remember to bring your Park District receipt to any program, event, or trip to verify your enrollment. 8. Mail-in/drop-off payments for programs are accepted by check only. 9. Cancellation Policy: The Park District reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment and issue appropriate refunds. The Park District reserves the right to change, adapt, or reschedule any program variables, including instructors, dates, days, times, locations, etc. 10. Refund Policy: Refunds are given only if requested prior to the second class of the session. Refunds are not granted for one–day seminars, trips or special events, unless requested one week prior to date of event. Refunds will only be issued if the refund dollar amount is $10 or greater. Dollar amounts less than $10 will be credited to the household account and can be used for future registration purposes. You may at any time request your full refund. 11. For programs in school locations, school activities have priority. Park programs may be cancelled. Attempts will be made to make up any program that is cancelled.

TOT TIME PRESCHOOL

The Tot Time Preschool Program includes a variety of developmentally appropriate activities: creative art experiences, singing and rhythm activities, stories, finger plays, role playing and body movement, free play and activities related to everyday math and science discovery. This program is continuous beginning in September and ending in May. Children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1, 2020. All children must be toilet-trained and able to take care of their own bathroom needs. Three-year-old classes have a maximum of 20 children and four-year-old classes have a maximum of 25 children.

This is an exhilarating, cutting-edge area of engineering. In this unit, students design, build and test circuits and electronic projects. Sunrise to Sunset Camp CAMPS

Supervised playtime is available at the McCarthy Park campsite! This camp is for those who need extended hours before or after regular McCarthy Park camp time. A daily snack will be provided for the after-camp participants. To qualify for this program, your child must be enrolled in regular Day Camp at McCarthy Park. Additional information will be available at the time of registration.

Family Discount and Payment Plans

A discount rate is offered for Day Camp, Tot Camps Firefly and Little Sprouts, Teen Camp, Sunrise and Sunset Camp if you register for both sessions at the same time, or if you have more than one child in a family attending camp. Payment plan forms must be completed at the time of registration and require a credit or debit card. A $10 non-refundable service fee is required for payment plans. Half of the entire fee is due at registration; payment in full is due June 1 for Session A or C, and Jul 1 for Session B.

No previous acting experience is required. You must register prior to the audition date; those who register late are put on a wait list. A parent must accompany children to auditions with clothing sizes and a list of schedule conflicts. Cast and family members help with all aspects of the production including set design, props, costumes, etc. All cast members must attend tech and dress rehearsals, and all performances—no exceptions. American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program is unlike anything offered by other learning to swim programs. Comprised of six levels designed for children 6 years through 12 years. Children progress through the levels at their own pace, mastering the skills in one level before advancing to the next. Each level of our Learnto-Swim class includes training in basic water safety and helping others in an emergency, in addition to stroke development. During the first day of class abilities will be assessed and children will be placed in appropriate groups. Mermaid & Merman Clinic

Turn two feet into one tail at Mermaid University! This class will teach you how to care for your tail and swim like a real mermaid! Learn to float, twirl, spin and swim safely. Both youth and adult league information is available online at tinleyparkdistrict.org. You can access the information by clicking on the “Sports League” tab, and then “All Youth and Adult Sports Leagues”. The site will provide general league information, schedules and league weather updates.

Field Rentals and Conditions

Several athletic fields throughout the Tinley Park-Park District are available for rentals. All field requests and paperwork must be submitted to the Athletic Supervisor, Ron Woodworth. If you have questions, please contact Ron at (708) 342-4200. Field conditions can also be found on our website at www.tinleyparkdistrict.org.

Recreation Center Batting Cage Rental

Looking to give your team a little more practice or just want to have some fun? Our batting cage will offer opportunities for all ages. Slow pitch to fast pitch baseball. Participants can even choose to forgo the pitching machine and give their arm a work out on the pitching mound. Rentals will include enough space in your own private room to have team meetings, go over fielding assignments or even run small drills while others are working on their swinging or pitching in the cage. Rental reservation requests require a minimum of four days advance notice. If you would like to request a rental, you must contact the Athletic Supervisor, Ron Woodworth, at (708) 342-4200. Rental requests are first comefirst served. Location: Recreation Center Group or Individual Fee: $13 R / $20 NR (per 30 minutes) Please note: Maximum of 12 people allowed in the room per time during rentals.

Volunteer Coaches

Many of our youth athletic programs depend on volunteer coaches. Coaching your child’s team offers many benefits such as teaching the value of good sportsmanship, learning about a sport along with your child and creating lifelong bonds with your child. We understand families are busy with school, work and other activities. Shared coaching is always possible. Not only will your child will make new friends, but you will too! When you see this symbol , please volunteer! Stop by the Rec Center front desk and fill out a Volunteer Coaching application. We offer voluntary certification courses making a head coach eligible for registration discounts. Contact the Athletic Supervisor, Ron Woodworth, at (708) 342-4208 for complete details. Thank you.

Refunds

Refunds may be pro-rated if uniforms and awards have been ordered or if the league has begun. Participants is contacted within one week from the program’s start date by the coach. They are able to provide the time and location of the first meeting.

Friendship Request Procedures

Participants are only allowed to make one request per league. We try to fulfill a reasonable number of friendship requests, but none are guaranteed. Those that are granted are limited in order to keep all teams evenly balanced. Siblings with the same last name and address are placed on the same team unless otherwise noted. Requests for specific coaches will not be honored. Requests made after the registration deadline will not be honored. Coaches are not allowed to make requests and their children will automatically be placed on their teams.

Everyone loves a good game of capture the flag! Well, we have put a twist on this popular game by adding NerfWars into the mix. Entire fee is due at registration. Fees are based on a team registration. Full refunds are processed within one month for teams that secured a sponsorship. Olympic Taekwondo

Students have the opportunity to improve concentration and self-esteem, achieve lifelong physical fitness and learn selfdefense skills. A uniform fee is required at the first class. Belt testing is offered through KH Kim Taekwondo at an additional fee and is held twice a year. All colored belt students are required to have complete sparring gear.

Little Dragons MARTIAL ARTS

The Little Dragons class is designed to captivate the interest of our youngest students. Skills are developed through gentle instruction and appropriate games. This class focuses on developing balance, coordination and respect for the discipline of martial arts training. A uniform fee of $45 is required at the first class.

Early Taekwondo

This program helps kids develop conditioning, coordination, listening skills and self-confidence through creative activities.

Youth Taekwondo

This program provides a balanced cardiovascular workout, including punching, kicking and blocking skills, using Taekwondo tradition and self-control. Participants will improve coordination, power of concentration, balance and physical and mental discipline.

Looking for a place to throw a birthday party, hang out with your friends or just relax and have fun? The Pit Stop is the available to rent on Saturday and Sunday throughout the year. Rentals are two hours in length. An adult 21 years and older must be present throughout the rental. Equipment includes ping pong, billiards, Wii, Play Station 4, Xbox One, climbing wall, light wall, foosball and more! Pit Stop supervisors will be on hand to assist with equipment. Safe Sitter Babysitting Course

This course is ideal for current and future babysitters, teaching them the best ways to be safe and keep the children in their care safe. 1893 World’s Fair Tour

Join Seecago Tours on another fun adventure! Get a closer look at one of the most important events in Chicago history. With the aid of visual guides, we explore the famous Midway and then continue to the main buildings in Jackson Park. Hear stories of Daniel Burnham, Frank Lloyd Wright, Buffalo Bill Cody, HH Holmes (Chicago’s Serial Killer) and others, and tour Rockefeller Chapel on the U of C Campus.
