The myth of multitasking #SupportBlue Tiana Larsen Reporter
Elizabeth Lamb Reporter
Studies showed that multitasking is a myth, that you can not focus 100 percent on two or more things at the same time. It causes your brain to rapidly move back and forth from one thing to another, thus makes it almost impossible. Multitasking does not save time, instead it is wasting it. It takes people longer to finish two projects rather than just one separately, in fact it is the same thing with driving. In 2008, the University of Utah discovered that drivers took longer to reach their destination when they made conversations on their cell phone. Experts also estimate that switching between tasks can cause a 40 percent decrease in productivity and believe there will be an increase cause errors in whatever someone is working on.
On May 26, 2015, the funeral for fallen officer, Kerrie Orozco, was held at St. Joseph’s cemetery. The Council Bluffs community stood together to watch the officer make her way to her final resting place. Multiple Council Bluffs students and residents came out to support the fallen officer and crowd fell silent as the procession made its way through Broadway. The
mood was supportive, yet somber for the families, police force, and crowd who all wore blue in honor of Orozco. #supportblue was stormed by many TJ facebook and twitter users. Many posting messages showing tremendous amounts of support for the family and the other officers that put their lives on the line for their community. Others posting pictures to show how many people were there on the streets to support the procession.
