Welcome to Extra Innings Dear YSB’ers, Our First Years are settled in, the leaves are changing color (albeit too early!), and we are into our team practices! Needless to say, we are excited!

The next several weeks are full of excitement! We have official visits, fall games, as well as our traditional YaleHarvard tailgate! We hope to see you there!

Each year this tailgate has been growing, and we can’t wait to see the turnout! We are still confirming our new location, and will share the specifics as we get closer to the event!

From the Dugout

Bulldog Friends, It’s hard to believe another year has passed, and another class has graduated! We have a strong group of 2023’s who will be joining a veteran team this season. Three of the past four years we have been in the top half of the league – this year we want nothing less than that top spot!

Having a full year with the Carol Roberts Field House and the new field surface, we can only continue to be grateful for all of the upgrades! To have the convenience of their locker room and athletic training room right at the field has made a world of difference. The upgrades to the field (turf) has made the weather challenges more manageable! We use the Alumni Room for team meetings, yoga, and our parents enjoy it during our cold spring games!

As a reminder, we are still running a locker sponsorship drive. You can have your name on a locker – forever!

There are limited lockers available, so don’t wait.

Thank you again for all of your support. It makes a difference to our team every day!

Fall

New Assistant Coach Announced Laura Ricciardone, who starred as a pitcher in the Ivy League and most recently helped South Florida to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances as an assistant coach, has been named an assistant coach at Yale.

"I couldn't be more excited to have someone with Laura's experience coming on board," said Head Coach Jen Goodwin. "When speaking with colleagues during my search, her name came up multiple times, and I can see why.

Her experience, expertise, as well as her energy and passion for softball is something we will all benefit from.

Laura will have the unique ability to relate to our studentathletes immediately from her time at Harvard. I can't wait to hit the ground running with Laura.�

Yale-Harvard Tailgate The mornings are chillier, the days are shorter – and The Game is around the corner! We are already making our plans for our traditional tailgate before Yale takes on Harvard.

Tickets are on sale, so set yours aside and keep an eye out for the RSVP sometime in October.
